Il Fuoco di Archimede - Ortigia

Great location, spacious apartment with lots of character and it had everything we needed.

Location and main bedroom

Second bedroom dark and dingy, almost no natural light. Kitchen not well equipped and needs a thorough clean. Laundry was full of rubbish from previous tenants. We did not meet the host, responded when asked to replace the broken kettle but did not offer advice other than restaurants. E.g Would have been nice to have been alerted to the annual festival of San Lucia which took place while we were there.

Once again, our stay at Il Fuoco Di Archimede Ortigia was simply magical. You could not ask for a better location. Situated in the heart of Ortigia, just around the corner from the main shopping area and best restaurants. The accommodation itself is immaculate and literally looks like something that would grace the pages of Architectural Digest. And what truly makes our stays so special is Alessandra - a consummate host who is kind, thoughtful and goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best time in Ortigia.

We loved the space and location. Alessandra has thought of everything for her guests and made us feel very comfortable and we would highly recommend.

Nothing - it was perfect!

The location was perfect - only one street back from Corso Giacomo right near Piazza Archimede. Alessandra couldn't have been more welcoming. The layout of the unit was great - the bedrooms quiet, spacious and comfortable. The addition of the washing machine was very welcome.

The pressure in the both bathroom showers was virtually non existent - i had read earlier reviews about this but thought they may have exaggerated the issue but they didn't. I'm not sure what can be done to remedy as I understand these buildings are very old? No toilet seat provided in the ensuite bathroom which was puzzling and disappointing? The kitchen cupboards could all do with a clean and tidy up - lots of unnecessary items notably under sink and it was a bit grubby because of that. Likewise the laundry was full of cleaning products and equipment that was not in any kind of order making it difficult to clean and thus it was not clean or tidy. Equally, the wardrobes were full of extra quilts pillows blankets etc which made it difficult to hang anything - they could also do with a clean up and tidy.

Clean, great facilities, excellent location. Laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning. Alessandra was a great communicator and very kind.

Except for getting lost a few times. Parking in the station was hard to follow but our host helped us out.
