Mikittos

The location is obviously great, right next to where you want to be, but on the quiet side street. Leave the car in one of the main parking lots of Taormina, don't pretend to be a local or a hero. The terrace upstairs is fantastic. It's really the reason why we booked it. I'm keeping this part in the "like" part as it can't be really a surprise if you book a condo in a town with hills around you, but be aware of this if your old knees have experienced lots of hiking already. Lots of steps as it is three floors. If you forget anything downstairs you take a moment to think if it's really that important to go back down again. We took it as a fun game - who lost rock-paper-scissors had to go and get it.

Showers. One is a super tiny cubicle and tight which is very typical of Italy. The second one is one of those where you have to squat in the tub and hold the shower head over you with one hand as there is nowhere to attach it nor is there a shower curtain etc and everything on the floor gets wet. Again, super common in Italy. Not sure who would ever enjoy these showers. Thank God Italy has fantastic food and cute little towns, cause this is for sure one of their weaknesses. Some of the dishes we had to rewash before using. Bath and hand towels could be placed in each of the bedrooms so you wouldn't have to run up the stairs when you need them. Following is nothing to do with accommodation itself and it does not affect my general review. Taormina itself is crazy though. We're all happy we've been there, but it was our least favourite town on our trip to Sicily. Very pretty views from the castle on top of the hill, pretty and fixed up town as obviously there's money going around. But, restaurant prices must match Switzerland's, waaay too expensive for such poor (or average the best) quality. Sooo soo busy that it was uncomfortable to walk on main streets. If you like shopping, sure, go for it, nothing else like it. Postcard picture perfect, sure. But just lacking real Sicilian character.

The property was located in the heart of Taormina. We loved the location. We also enjoyed the fresh fruit that was provided and coffee. Our host was unable to meet us upon arrival but sent a video to let us know how to enter the apartment which was easy to follow.

There was a plumbing issue with the shower and basins not draining properly and the downstairs toilet not flushing properly. I feel this issue can be easily fixed for future guests.

Perfect location in a quiet street but not far from all the action. Nicki was a great host, the amenities provided made it feel so homely. It was appreciated that things like olive oil, washing detergent, ground coffee was made available when often at these stays you have to buy such things. We enjoyed having breakfast and coffee together in the very cute kitchen.

The bathrooms on all levels are quite old/ would be good to replace the shower head with something more practical, we often had to hand hold the shower head to keep it up.

Centrally located & very convenient to get to the main street of Taormina - views along the way are breathtaking. Everything we need was within walking distance. The spectacular Teatro Antico was just around the corner from Mikittos. We used the local buses, Interbus, to get to Castelmola and trekked back down to Taormina - it was delightful. We were are family group of 6 people from 16 to 84 years old Mikittos met all our needs. We all enjoyed getting to know to Nicki who is very kind, considerate and was always available to answer our questions and meet our needs. Mille Grazie

We had no hot water on day 1, but it was promptly fixed on day 2

Great location. Accomodating host. Spacious. Fresh fruit, fresh water, milk & condiments provided which were greatly appreciated.
