Old Lodge Studio 5 by Vallettastay

The location of the apartment was good and it was also quite clean. Everything was reachable within a short walk. We didn't use the kitchen, but it also looked like the basics were there.

The worst part of the apartment was the noisy bed. Instead of a slat frame, there were just three loosely cut wood plates. If you moved just a bit in the bed, it was creaking. My wife and I couldn't fall asleep, so we put the mattress on the floor in the middle of the night. I mean the main part of an apartment is the bed. Usually you are just there to sleep. Just a mattress without a bed is even better. The apartment also smelled very musty, but even worse was the smell from the room scent. It didn't neutralize the smell, it just created another annoying smell. However this was resolvable, by putting the scent outside.  Because of the smell you were forced to keep the windows open all day and night. Unfortunately there were many mosquitoes outside. This made the night even more exhausting.  More minor parts were following:  The fabric cover of the couch already had several stains. Why not using a changeable cover, like in every other apartment?  The roof top was also not that shiny as it looked on the pictures. Every second seat was full of bird droppings and they were not really comfortable.  Somehow the rating on Google Maps reflects the reality way more, instead of the one here from Booking.

Really great location and good value. The staff were helpful providing extra towels etc.

The property is good value but the bed was really loud and uncomfortable so if you can spend extra, I would.

Traditional Maltese home, well furnished and presented. Great location in Valletta.

Not a great kitchen if you actually want to cook, limited pots and pans and no oil or salt. There is also a strange smell when you first enter the apartment, presumably because of the stone walls and it smells like a cave.

Location of the studio was perfect. Close to all of the main attractions of Valetta. Stores, restaurants, bars and beautiful views were just few steps from the studio. The studio was really clean and had everything what one would need during holidays. Also the roof terrace is a big plus :) However, the best thing about this studio was a customer service! Very helpful, nice and friendly. We felt really “taken care of”. I wish all often the hotels would have such a high level of service! :)

Staff were friendly and the location of the apartament is great. Well furnished in terms of appliances.

Unfortunately, cleaning is definitely improvable as there was dust all over the apartament. The mattress was very uncomfortable and squeaky. There was no window blind or curtains; the door and the main window were facing the corridor and since they were not covered I did not feel 100% safe.

There were no curtains in the apartment. It was very embarrassing that instead of Provide their guests with an adapter for sockets, it was written that you can buy it in the store or at our reception. Why buy an adapter that will be in use only for a few days of vacation. Also disappointed by the small amount of coffee (2 bags for two people for 5 days of vacation).

Central location. Self check in was very easy. Kitchen was well equipped.

Bed was very uncomfortable and very noisy when only slightly moving. Linen was dirty. Lots of mosquitoes in the room although we kept windows and door shut.

Apartment met all expectations, really well located, easy to find, nice clean & seems relatively recently renovated. The room itself was decent, especially so for the price - cannot complain on that front.

The only downsides as has been mentioned is the bed, it is extremely noisy. It woke me/my partner up multiple times during the night and we are usually OK sleepers. I would suggest for the price of a decent bed/mattress it's a very worthy investment as it would make the whole trip quite a lot more enjoyable given 90% of your time spent in the apartment is most likely in the bed trying to sleep. The shelf above the toilet sink also really needs replacing as it's no longer flat, clearly been damaged somehow. It meant it was unusable making the bathroom frustrating as nowhere else really to put toiletries. Again, a small change here of little cost would make a big difference.

Location is walking distance from many restaurants, bars, shopping places and museums. The property offered a local map. Full kitchen with everything you need.

The light sensor at the entrance in the building only works after you made it to the top of the stairs, which is the most dark and dangerous part. Property needs some small repairs here and there, wals have some marks and the door frame between room and bathroom is cracked at the bottom. Very bad placement of the shelf above sink and you can tell people have hit their head there because sink is very small.
