This was by far one of the most unpleasant and disappointing stays we have ever had, and I honestly don’t understand how this apartment is even being rented out in its current state. First of all, the communication with the host was absolutely miserable. We contacted her on time, but she only replied once and never showed any sign of actually wanting to help or accommodate us. That already gave us a bad feeling, but things only went downhill from there. When we entered the apartment, we were immediately hit by the strong smell of dampness and mold. For those who don’t know: this “apartment” is actually in a basement, which means there are no proper windows to ventilate the place. The result? It’s dark, gloomy, and suffocating. The first thing that greeted us was a disgusting, unflushed, and unclean toilet. I personally had to scrub the toilet myself before we could even use it. We even had to go out and buy cleaning products because clearly the host didn’t bother. The shower cabin was filthy, covered in mold and grime absolutely repulsive. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the bedding was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been washed at all, and the mattress itself was also filthy. While the host may not be directly responsible for everything, it is absolutely unacceptable to rent out a place in this state. To make matters worse, the neighbors upstairs feed pigeons from their balcony, and these pigeons gather right in front of the apartment door, leaving droppings everywhere. It was simply disgusting walking in and out. We are deeply disappointed. For the amount of money we paid, we expected at the very least a clean and comfortable stay. Instead, we got this nightmare. Hopefully this review will open the host’s eyes to all the mistakes and negligence, because as it stands, nobody should have to experience what we did. Avoid this place at all costs.

Apartment has got all the possible appliances from coffee machine to clothes dryer. It is quite spacious. Location is brilliant right on the sea shore and 3 min walk to the main streets of Valletta.

Lack of windows. It is a bit dark, not all the lightbulbs were working.

The location is superb and it is very quiet.

It didn’t appear to have been cleaned at all. The toilet was dirty and the soap in the bathroom hadn’t been replenished. There is a very damp smell & the air conditioning leaked. There needs to be a dehumidifier installed. The mattress was stained. We did notify the hosts that the washing machine wasn’t working - the drum had completely dislodged. They said they didn’t know, which emphasised how little the apartment had been checked over before our stay. To their credit they had a new one delivered the next day, but overall the lack of cleanliness, the lack of windows, lack of kitchen equipment, and the general damp outweighed this good will.
