Valletta Collection - Merchant Str Apartment with large yard

Location is top. The apartment is clean and well-kept.

The location could not have been better - right in the middle of the beautiful old town of Valetta yet still quiet. I loved the courtyard for some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle. Communications with the property managers were really easy and we were given a great recommendation for a lovely local restaurant.

The lights seemed to be on a complicated system which we never quite worked out and as a result the apartment was a little dark in the bedrooms. The aircon in the master bedroom wasn't quite cool enough.

This 2 double bedroom apartment is spacious & comfortable with a large kitchen and sitting room. The bedrooms are at the back of the property which is perfect since the apartment is located on the busy Merchant Street with lots of bars & restaurants which can be very noisy. The doors to the kitchen & sitting room when closed provide good noise insulation. It’s perfectly located for all the sights in old town Valletta & easy access to all ferry ports as well as the bus terminal. The kitchen included some basic staples for home cooking. The hosts provided clear instructions & helped to arrange airport transfers. They also responded immediately to a small maintenance issue.

The self catering facilities were excellent with plenty of items for cooking, storing food etc. The property was very clean with plenty of bedding, towels provided. The location was very good and central, easy to get to all amenities in Valletta. It's good that the bedrooms are at the rear of the property as Merchant Street is very busy and quite noisy but in the bedrooms you can't hear the noise so this is good planning. We contacted the hosts on a couple of occasions and they were very helpful.

We found the lights a little difficult to understand. One thing which was missing was information on contacts in emergencies, ie hospitals and doctors. Also there were no instructions on how to use appliances such as the hob and washing machine, this would be helpful. When I first arrived I was looking for 179 Merchant Street. I knew it was next to the YMCA but there was no number on the door. If this could be rectified that would be helpful. It was the first time I had visited Malta so I knew nothing of the area. After that all was fine.

More hot water. THe second bathroom shower didn't seem to work.
