The Sunset Suite Vernazza

The outdoor space is the most beautiful rooftop as far as I could see in Vernazza. The sunset was truly spectacular! It was great to be able to eat breakfast there each morning.

Dish towel for the kitchen would have been great.

Host contacted me for arrival time the day before. Sightseeing so arrived late. Host provided a perfect video of how to get to the room from the train station, as well as a code to get to the lockbox for late check-in. Found the room instantly no problems. Hauling of the suitcases in was not easy, but that's ordinary for Cinque Terre! Beautiful big room with couch table, kitchen. Some pots and pans and utensils provided. Really pretty room. AC, but Wi-Fi slow. Second floor sundeck is huge. Beautiful views overlooking the water and Vernazza complete with two lounge chairs, two regular chairs, and full table and four chairs. Really large and nice. However, the umbrella was a menace. Even the slightest breeze would try to blow it over. It's way too big. Should just have a regular sized umbrella on a pole with a stand on the ground. Otherwise it's huge and basically non-functional. Big disappointment if you want to sit on the deck and enjoy it in the day time having the umbrella provide the much-needed shade. But the deck is huge. The apartment is very nice. Had a great stay.

Loved the view from the deck. Great location just a short walk from everything.

We had a little difficulty with communication during check in.

We liked the proximity to the train station as it was maybe a 2 min walk, max. We liked the large rooftop terrace. My wife and I were up there every morning for espresso (included in the room) and every evening for aperitivo. The bed was also big and very comfortable. The owner was also super helpful. We arrived to town late by train and he couldn’t stay to let us into the unit so he sent us a video to show us the walk to the unit. He also gave us restaurant recommendations. Very helpful and friendly host.

There wasn’t much we didn’t like. If I had to say something it would be that you really need to crank the AC while you’re out at dinner so it’s cool enough to sleep comfortably. We set it to 16° C (61° F) on fan level 4 so it was cool enough to sleep. First night we had it on 18°C (64°) fan level 2 and we were a bit too warm. A simple oscillating fan would do wonders here to get some air moving in the room.

Great communication with host Michel, helped out with local parking. Superb roof terrace. If you don't plan to enjoy the view then book a different place, you pay the premium price for the premium large terrace with breathtaking views.

The flat is quite pricey thus expectations are accordingly high, which is why it's no perfect 10 but still a Superb 9. Just small things like freezer completed frosted, safe not working, air conditioning could need user manual for some, bathroom could use some maintenance.

Hands down best view in Vernazza! Extremely accessible via train, and very easy to walk to main part of town. Very quaint neighborhood which was fun to walk! Very comfortable bed, extremely clean apartment and has all amenities you could need!

No complaints at all, we loved our stay!
