CROFTERS CABIN

Location, hosts, surroundings, proximity to everything

Very hard to find in the dark and rain, very few signs to follow, eg, road names

Great location for exploring the Isle of Skye. Place was very clean. There was an amazing coffee shop about a 5 minute drive away!

Single lane road to get to unit was very bumpy!

The Crofters Cabin was our highlight. It is so peaceful and the hosts were so nice and helpful. We could deeply relax and enjoy living in the moment. Everything was very clean and we had all we needed to cook for ourselves. This is the perfect place to explore Skye and the hosts have a lot of information where to go and what to do. Wifi connection was also very good if needed. Only downside was, that we only booked it for 2 nights. Will definetly want to come again!

This was the best stay on our trip. Super cozy cabin, well equipped and very clean. Check In and Out was easy and comfortable.There even were books, movies and games and a friendly chicken that visited our porch daily.

- Great and beautiful location! We loved coming back every evening. Felt like home. - stags in the glen (by night) - sheep at the kitchen window in the morning - very clean! - lovely decor and well-thought-out layout of the cabin - great info folder - very friendly host - fireplace - basket with games, books, maps, dvds - well equipped kitchen (mini oven, microwave, plates, cutlery, stove,toaster, kettle,…)

- slow internet and no phone signal (which can also be a goof thing) - bed:only one blanket and the pillows were too hard for our liking (but I have to say that we usually sleep on very very very soft pillows) - although the kitchen is well equipped, the knives were very dull and 1-2 spare tea towles would have been nice

Quietly located away from the main tourist route which is a good thing to chill and relax. The cabin can be kept comfortably warm in cool summer night. Although there was no mobile signal, the wifi was working well and we even got to watch the Wimbledon men final before heading out for dinner. The cabin is clear and comfortable and a great view of the hill over the opposite side of the estuary. It was delightful to have the sheep grazing around us and visiting us occasionally. The Old Inn which does not require reservation is within driving distant for dinner, which we actually enjoyed very much.

Without mobile signal meant some planning was needed making sure dinner and excursions/reservations were made by phone before returning to the cabin. Otherwise one has to take a short drive to get proper mobile reception to make calls. It is perhaps a trade off one has to make to have absolute peace and quiet.

Fantasic location - close the Dunvegan and the Fairy Pools (approx 20min drive) The cabin had everything we needed - cooker, microwave, kettle, Sky TV. Loved meeting the local dog too!
