The property was fitted with a noise detector which we were not told about. On Christmas Day we had people over for a late lunch and from 4pm we started receiving messages and calls from an automated system that kept threatening that we would be fined R10000 if we didn’t keep the noise down. At this point we were just all eating and chatting and no loud music was playing. It is a small space and to be told to keep the noise down when you are entertaining it is very difficult especially when it is a public holiday and festive season and within normal hours and not after hours. This house should not be rented out at peak season when people are on holiday and a certain level of noise is to be expected.
