Camborne Holiday Apartments

L'appartement est tès bien situé, proche de tous les restaurants et bars. On se sent en sécurité.

Notre chambre n'était pas là meilleure chambre, car elle donnait face a la rue et au centre commercial. Il y a beaucoup de bruit, les taxis klaxonnent constamment, c'est assez dérangeant. En été il doit faire très chaud et le ventilateur dont dispose la chambre n'est pas suffisant. C'est dommage quil n'y ait pas de chambre climatisée, ça aurait été un plus.

The building is conveniently located just across the road from The Point Mall, which was a key deciding factor for me. BASI Pilates Academy Cape Town is based in that building. If you are a BASI teacher coming for a training the location is perfect, you just need to cross the road. The room itself is very nice and spacious, with windows overlooking the main road. The bathroom is also generously sized and features a large shower. My room was on the fifth floor and had access to a shared patio with beautiful views of Lion’s Head. The bed was big and very comfortable, making for a pleasant stay overall.

Unfortunately, there were several issues that made the stay less comfortable. The room was very stuffy, and the fan seemed to generate more heat than cool the space, making it quite difficult to sleep at night. The additional metal security gate on the door wasn’t working either, so I couldn’t leave the door open to create some airflow. A light bulb in the bathroom stopped working on the second day of my stay, and there was no clear way to report it or contact anyone for assistance. On arrival, the lift was also out of service due to maintenance, but there was no notice explaining the situation or providing a contact. I had a 23kg suitcase, and fortunately a kind passerby helped carry it up to the fifth floor—though I did have to tip for the help. The area itself is very noisy, both during the day and at night, so earplugs are essential if you want to get any rest. Combined with the heat, it made sleeping quite challenging—I even had to resort to hugging a cold water bottle just to cool down enough to fall asleep.

The apartment was too hot. Needs aircon or more fans. The current cooling fan is not adequate.
