Experience City Living with a Manhattan Twist

The apartment is spacious and features some lovely pieces of furniture and artwork. The shower is lovely and it has excellent waterpressure. The bed in the main bedroom was great. Andrew, from the management company was friendly and really tried his best to fix as many of the issues as he could and we appreciated the apology gift.

The description and images was a bit misleading. Not what we expected – needs serious maintenance! We stayed at this New York style apartment for 2 nights, and honestly, it was a disappointing experience overall. Straight off the bat, the elevator wasn’t working, so we had to carry all our luggage (and there was a lot, since I was travelling to Australia upon check-out) up and down to and from the 3rd floor. The parking is in another building and I wouldn't recommend taking that walk after hours. When we reached the door, we were supposed to enter a security PIN, but the door was already open – the lock is broken, which felt unsafe. At first glance, the apartment looked clean, but once we walked through it, we realized it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The floors were dusty, and the windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. We booked this place mainly because it had a washing machine and tumble dryer – neither of which worked. The ironing board even ruined one of my new shirts because it had a sharp metal point sticking through the plank. The guest room bed is also a nightmare – the planks under the mattress kept falling out, so it was basically unusable. We tried following the instructions to light the fireplace but couldn’t get it working until Andrew assisted. The big grey lamp in the living room doesn’t work either, and we couldn’t figure out how to turn off the dome light in the entrance hall. The day after checking in, we had plans, but didn’t feel comfortable leaving all our belongings in the apartment because they had three sets of people coming in and out for viewings (potential buyers). We were only informed about this after checking in, which made us feel even more uneasy given the broken door lock and lack of security. It’s pretty clear this apartment isn’t being maintained properly, which is a pity because the location and aesthetic have a lot of potential.

The fact that the wifi didn't work but it wasn't their fault it was the internet service provider and there are plenty of other wifi facilities available close by like the Woolworths shop down the street. The shower is tiled so very slippery to stand on and poses a big risk for falling, not ideal for the elderly.

A hidden gem in the heart of Cape Town. The apartment is spacious and luxurious with lovely art and books to compliment the luxury feel of the apartment.

The second bedroom does not have its own bathroom, which makes it a bit complicated for two business people attending a conference as they have to share the same shower, but nonetheless, a very special place indeed. Will definitely be back.
