Royal Mile Old Town Apartment

The location was spectacular! It is walking distance to everything in Edinburgh and it is so cute and comfortable.

Excellent location and parking available. Clean,well equipped apartment. Would be ideal for a couple.

Booking accepted for 4 adults as in 2 couples. The sofa bed was small and uncomfortable. However,it would be ideal for a couple.

Great location and the attractions are within walking distance from the property. The property is comfortable and spacious for 3 people.

I think the bathroom is not too private as the bathroom’s window is a bit transparent to my liking.

Location is great.

Sofa beds are really not comfortable, even for kids which are significantly lighter than an adult.

The kitchen and bathroom were quite new and the flat was clean.

The furniture was uncomfortable and stained, especially the bed. We also had to do quite a bit of cleaning - take all the bedding off the bed (so could see the cheap and stained pillows) as well as take out all the trash to the bins across the main road. The outside space could be great if it was kept up. There are weeds everywhere. And security was a concern as one of the locks on the door was broken. One of the many closets wouldn’t close as it was stuffed to the gills with excess bedding and no place to hang any clothing. Additionally there was only one mirror located in the bathroom so using straighteners or similar was tricky.

The location was great! If you were staying longer than one night and expecting to use kitchen, this would be a great facility. Nice that it had a washing machine as well for longer stays. I also appreciated that there was a bathtub and a shower which seems like a rare thing in Scotland.

It was inconvenient to have to have an appointment and very specific time to meet owner to get the keys. A lock box or keyless entry would have been very helpful. Also if we would have had some information about parking ahead of time would have helped as well. We mentioned having three travelers, so having the extra linens for the third person set out and pillows without stains would have been nice.

There was a lack of a good communal space with enough sitting for families. The sofa bed and chair bed were very uncomfortable. The chair bed, fold out cushions, and additional pillows/duvets had visible stains and should be replaced/cleaned. The walls have been abused by past guests and a fresh coat of paint would help. Being unable to open the windows, have fans, or some type of ventilation made the flat quite stuffy. To be sanitary, individual travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash should be supplied for guests instead of leaving old, used items for all guests to keep using.

The location cannot be beat. Half a block from High Street. It was perfect, comfortable, and had easy parking. It was perfect.

There was no toilet paper or paper towels. Not a big deal, we just bought our own.

The accommodation we booked has a broken sofa bed the owner knows about and the provided alternative is not adequate (pretty much sleeping on the floor). Moreover, the single duvet for the third person has no appropriately sized duvet cover. We requested at the least a partial refund of the fee paid but without reaction from the booking.
