The Cheltenham, stylish 1-bed Victorian apartment

Fantastic location, really clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated and had all the utensils needed to make dinner.

There were a few small things such as the TV being really high on the wall and frosted glass doors on the bathroom, these are personal preferences and didn’t deduct from the enjoyment of our stay. The parking was frustrating but this isn’t something the property has any control over.

It was close to town. No car was needed.

The bedroom in this flat is located down a set of very steep steps, which was not mentioned in the property description. The bathroom is on the main floor. Had I known that the bedroom was on a lower level accessed by such stairs, I would not have booked this accommodation. Unfortunately, I suffered a fall on the first day due to the steep steps. Because of safety concerns, we checked out early the following morning and booked a hotel instead. I informed the hosts, Karen and Neill, about the situation and explained that I have a medical condition (a brain tumor) that affects my balance, making it unsafe for me to access the lower level. I requested a refund for the unused nights, but the request was declined. I strongly recommend that the listing be updated to clearly indicate the presence of steep stairs and the bedroom’s location on a lower level, so future guests can make an informed decision before booking.

The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The location was perfect for us, a short walk from the valley gardens where we walked the dogs.

Parts of the woodwork needs a lick of paint and we didn't know how to switch the heater on in the bedroom. We read in the comments book that the water was very hot but I just turned it down on the boiler and it was okay.

Very quiet, very clean, enough space for two, dog friendly. Appreciated the milk left in the fridge for us. We’ve stayed in Granville Road before but had a whole house to ourselves then which was actually cheaper than this. This is in effect a basement flat finished to a very nice spec and worked fine for us. Comms with the owners were really good, would probably stay again 👍

No parking, but parking available nearby but costly. Best place to park is probably West Park car park, ten min walk away, £8:50ish for 24 hours.

Extremely central location which was great. Early check in available.

I would have preferred the bathroom to be on the same level as the bedroom but I was aware of this when booking so I guess that's my fault! Outdoor area was fine but could perhaps do with a little TLC. Likewise indoors, mostly fine but just a few touches needed here and there eg toilet roll holder was hanging off and actually fell off on the last day, no cover for ironing board.
