The Mews, Talley

It's a really beautiful place. Everything is so thoughtfully placed. Our kids also enjoyed the games that were provided, which we could play together. Sadly, we only had one night, so we didn't have that much time to enjoy everything, especially the beautiful nature of this place.

Everything about the Mews was just gorgeous! On a chilly autumnal night it was warm and cosy. Inside the decor was just superb - there was such attention to detail, beautiful lovespoons, hearts everywhere, lush wool blankets lais on every bed, super comfy mattresses, beautiful fabrics for cushions and curtains, spare toiletries to use, everything you need in the kitchen, milk left for us in the fridge. I loved the ironwork on the wooden doors and the solid feel to the place, even though the floor was quite bumpy in places, it just seemed to add to the charm! It was also absolutely spotlessly clean. While I didnt meet the host Clare, you could tell she had a good eye for what guests would like, and the result is somewhere I would loved to have stayed in longer :)

We couldnt find the central heating controls and we would have turned it off in the morning. That's hardly a criticism! Nope, nothing I didnt like at all.

-description didn't say it was in a small complex of 6-8 properties -access road pot holes and raised centre (any low raise suspension would likely ground, it tapped our exhaust) -fridge mouldy -clutter in kitchen and living areas, every cupboard and drawer was stuffed to brim -games in chest were generally incomplete and in a mess. Spent 3 hours trying to find and sort a complete game -mildew and grime in shower. Around bath poor finish of sealant -a LOT of part used toiletries. Just too much -lovely to have tea and coffee on arrival but unable to use as it just looked gross -bathroom towels, covered in little white? Animal hairs - dirty marks / smell unpleasant on throws -general property smelt cluttered and musty. Think charity shop. -carpets need a deep clean. Sofa felt dirty. -TV remote and fire remote batteries didn't work. Asked host for replacement by call and text, no answer /replacement. -cracked window in master bedroom
