Hostess Penny went beyond the call of duty to ensure our comfort and convenience. The Aloe Suite was thoughtfully furnished and equipped with everything a guest could need, down to and including a well-stocked first aid kit. Coffee and Tea service and a nice bottle of wine were welcoming gifts. Penny provided fresh towels, clean bed linen and clean-up services regularly and inquired into our needs without intruding on our privacy. We were not on a holiday: we had come to South Africa because of a family medical emergency, and Penny provided the kind care we needed in difficult circumstances.

It is an adjustment for we Americans to get used to coping with 'load shedding' when the power is turned off in the entire community for hours at a time. Penny always provided us with warming of when to expect to be without electricity.
