Nothing, it was all great!

It’s a beautiful little apartment in such a perfect location in the Highlands! It was spotless and Val our host was so bubbly and welcoming. There was some stuff already stocked in the kitchen like pasta, rice and cereals, which was a great touch. It was very spacious as well with a small selection of games and puzzles.

Val made us very welcome and has thought of everything! The hot tub was much appreciated after climbing Ben Nevis. Parking was right outside the chalet and the kitchen was very well kitted out.

A shelf in the shower would very handy and the loo seat had a wobble and needs adjusting.

Val and Stuart could not have been more helpful. They gave us lots of tips and ideas for restaurants and safe cycling trails and allowed us to keep and charge our e-bikes in their garage. The location near Roybridge, is convenient for touring the area and a 15 minute drive to Glen Nevis, to climb Ben Nevis. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and bright, and had every convenience including a lovely balcony with excellent views.

Val, the homeowner, was a delight to meet. She clearly designed the studio apartment with love and care. The entire space was welcoming and comfortable. Thank you Val for choosing fabulous, warm, bright lighting instead of sterile blue or not-bright-enough bulbs! The kitchen area was well stocked with necessities. Parking was easy. The bathroom and all the windows in the studio were fabulous. I had a lovely views of the Three Sisters Mountains (?) from the little balcony.

The Wifi is super slow! (Which I learned, after the fact, is common in rural UK.) I'm a digital nomad and had hoped to catch up on a lot of work while there, but the internet was too slow for much productivity. Very firm bed. I had been camping several nights prior to arriving here. I was looking forward to a nice, soft comfy bed .... and it was really hard. If you prefer firm beds, you will sleep well here. There's nothing to do right around the house. Not even a walk because the house is on a busy road with no pedestrian paths. But that also means it's the perfect location, to leave each day to explore the beautiful surroundings. :-)

The views

It could have been perfect... but it wasn´t... We tried to pay in our arrival but our bank app didn´t work, so the owner told us to pay in cash... two hours later our bank app worked again and we called her to pay, but she said it was too late and better to pay cash. The following day we try to pay with a credit card, but she didn´t accept payment with a credit card, only cash... because if we pay with credit card she had to pay the bank commission. So we had to go to Fort William looking for ATM to get the cash (not all ATM gives you that amount of money and they charge us for each time you do a withdrawal) To sum up, nice place to be but we didn´t enjoy at all, because we felt bullying and harassment to pay in cash, and not be allowed to pay with a credit card. If you have had issues with others customers, fine, ask for a upfront payment and we will do so, but please don't do thin again to ant other client or you will ruin their holidays with arguments, and your business. We loved everything!!!

Host Val very friendly and attentive on our arrival and showed us around. Apartment small but the perfect size for just the two of us. West facing balcony superb with the weather we had. Bed comfy, velux windows useful to open to cool apartment down.

Problems with email communication through the booking.com portal with Val not getting our replies/big delays in getting them so we had to travel without having paid for the rental as phone number on website also wasn’t answered when we tried.
