Fettes Hideaway

Alojamiento muy bonito y acogedor, tal y como se muestra en las imágenes. Nos encantó. La ubicación es genial, cerca de supermercados y bastante cerca del centro de Edimburgo. Estuvimos muy a gusto. La comunicación con el anfitrión muy buena. Tuvimos todo lo necesario para nuestra estancia.

There were no fire alarms active.and no fire escape

A very cosy apartment with a nice view. Clean and tidy and very close to the city centre. Owner is helpful and responsive. Would recommend to stay here.

The apartment is on the third floor (which was written in the description). A little bit inconvenient when you have multiple luggages as there is no lift. It’s not too bad though.

The third floor flat (no lift) is in a quiet, (very low traffic) well placed location near good shops, cafes etc. and it is easy and pleasant to walk into lovely Stockbridge village. It does have its quirks (eg some creaky floorboards by the bedrooms and bathroom, a just adequate hot water flow in the kitchen, windows need to be propped open,) and an old fashioned bathroom, but the flat is very clean, bright and secure with an interesting outlook both at the back and front. The kitchen had a good fridge freezer, oven and hob and dish washer. They all looked new. The lay out of the flat was attractive and practical.

We would have liked somewhere to hang damp towels (rail in the bathroom/ hooks on doors?); more crockery especially mugs, cereal bowls and mixing/ serving bowls particularly and tea towels. Every other self catering apartment I’ve stayed at before has provided a starter supply of tea bags, coffee, milk etc and salt, pepper, cooking oil and similar. I was surprised there was nothing… Accommodation in Edinburgh is very expensive now especially during the Festival.😟

Stairs, if we had known the the number of stairs we would not have booked, The Key to the Block from the basement car park did not work. Wifi password did not work, had to connect from router

Outstanding value for money, especially during the fringe festival. Only 10 minutes walk from Princess Street, free parking onsite is a massive bonus in Edinburgh also. There is a Waitrose and tesco store conveniently located within 1 block of the apartment, plus a lovely wine bar and cafe bar as well. A real treasure to have booked last minute during the fringe. Also, I arrived a little earlier than check in time and the place was perfectly appointed. I was apprehensive at the booking stage, as there has clearly been a couple of precious snowflake guests that have stayed previously who have left some tasteless comments. However, I could see past this and I was pleasantly surprised that my instinct was correct. A perfect example of a home from home for a few days. Good luck to you, Stephen,
