El Faro Apartaments

I loved my stay here! I am a solo female and couldn't think of a dreamer or better suited spot to enjoy Tarragona!

The staff was helpful in navigating the many problems created by the location issues and construction.

The location is next to an active construction site which was noisy starting at 7 pm and ugly to look at. Street noise from the adjacent plaza went until 11 AM. There was some sort of noise from below, which sounded like stones being dragged across a cement floor, which went on for additional hours. The apartment is not accessible by car as it is in the center of a no drive zone, which includes all of the old city. No one mentioned this prior. The room is accessed in a secret squirrel operation, which requires meeting at a closed dress shop several blocks away for instructions on the use of 3 separate keys at different access points Then, a passage up a winding staircase so narrow I couldn't turn around with my backpack on that I hit my head on twice. Everything in the room is cheaply made. There was no service the 6 days I was there. No washing machine.

Once we found the shop(300 metres away) from our apartment we were shown an instructional video to get in. It was like a scene out of the Da Vinci code. where you find the first key than you have to solve the puzzle to find the next one. Air conditioner wasn’t working. We couldn’t leave the window open during the night because of the noise outside. Very hot & stuffy. You also have to be quick with opening the outside lock as it’s a race against time being showered by pigeon poo. Which happened to me.

The apartment is on the 4th floor of an historic building. So therefore no lift. The internal stairs are steep and narrow. It can be rather challenging if you have mobility issues. However the apartment is worth the climb! The entry system for obtaining the keys (3), although well thought out, can be a little confusing when you first arrive. There is a helpful video made available on arrival. Persevere and everything will become crystal; clear

Hello The place was clean with a great location in the old town of Tarragona. Christina was a fantastic person to deal with.

The internet connection was very very poor. I had a hard time communicating with friends and family.

Located in the middle of a nice square in Tarragona old town, this place surely is a lovely place to stay. Small kitchen, fridge, sitting area and big bed gives much more freedom than in a hotel room. Getting keys were a two minute walk.

We lived on the 4th floor. The entry and stairs are narrow and there is no lift. If you have trouble walking up, then try to get a room at a lower floor.
