We stayed in The Old Furnace for Easter weekend with our 2 dogs. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s a stones throw away from the forest and is in an excellent location. We couldn’t fault anything about the property. Jill the property owner, was very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on places to go in the surrounding area.

Wonderful hosts, lovely respite in the beautiful woods. Already looking forward to my next visit, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area!

The accommodation was as it said in the description. Clean, tidy, quiet. In the "middle of nowhere".

Beds where a bit hard (new). The Mobile phone to the staff did not work (don't know why).

The location of this property is excellent. Very quiet and peaceful on the edge of a wooded area with easy access for walking. The property has been nicely converted to a good standard and has functional equipment and accessories e.g. sufficient crockery etc. and a dishwasher.

There was a bit of an issue with cleanliness in the bedroom, with cobwebs in the corner and behind the wardrobe. Although the bed is a good size, for us the mattress was too firm to be comfortable.

It was a very peaceful stay. The facilities are great with pretty much everything thought of. Spotlessly clean. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we were revisiting the area

The accommodation itself is acceptable, but I strongly advise against booking due to the host’s unreasonable and misleading practices.

The listing falsely states that you can "pay at the property" when, in reality, the host sends a payment link and demands full payment 28 days before arrival. Their welcome message confirms this: "We will send you a payment link shortly. We request full payment to be made twenty-eight days prior to arrival. We accept all major credit and bank cards." This is deceptive, and if you refuse to pay via the link, you risk overbooking issues—something other reviews have also mentioned. The claim of "free cancellation" is equally misleading. The host reluctantly agreed to "make an exception" for us, but expecting guests to send money through an unfamiliar link is completely unacceptable and unsafe. We requested an invoice, the host refused to provide a proper invoice until the funds where in his bank account. This is something we have never encountered before. Despite the fact that we had payed by card and received a transaction receipt from the owner himself, he insisted he couldn’t issue an invoice until the money was in his account—an excuse that was utterly ridiculous. It took Booking.com’s intervention to finally get what should have been provided immediately, and even then, the host initially refused to cooperate. The way payments are handled here is completely unprofessional, and the listing contains outright false information. The host expects guests to pay through an external link instead of at the property, as advertised. This method offers no security or protection if something goes wrong, leaving you vulnerable to potential fraud or disputes. If you refuse to comply, you risk issues like overbooking or cancellation, as seen in other reviews. Do not trust the payment process at this property. Avoid booking here altogether to prevent unnecessary stress and financial risk.

Lovely apartment in the forest so peaceful and apartment is modern and finished in lovely high standard, kitchen well equipped even has a dishwasher. Jill who owns the apartments is so lovely and friendly and we will definitely be back to stay again .
