Zia Maria's House next to Corfu port

Location is just outside of the touristy area and nice to be around the locals and the cats.

Very clean, well equipped kitchen, love for detail and a nice and safe neighborhood, especially for traveling alone, many friendly and elderly locals around. It is a nice 20-30 minute walk to the city center, city bus and taxis are available, the public bus from the airport goes almost directly to the apartment. Extremely helpful host. Thank you for everything. I was very content with my stay.

You hear the airplanes loudly in the whole port area, which has nothing to do with the apartment though.

Small, cosy, and clean accommodation. Close to the Corfu port.

Very good location, within comfortable walking distance from both the airport and the Old Town. A quiet place with windows away from the main street. A nice and compact apartment, ideal for a few-day stay.

Potential 'minuses', which in no way detract from a very positive opinion as a whole: very narrow and steep stairway between the two floors (but you learn to navigate it quickly) and airplanes flying overhead (few and far between).

The property is very close to the Corfu port - if you are planning any tours/excursions starting from the port, it literally takes a few minutes to walk there. Also it is a starting point of hop on/hop off buses. There a few nearby places to eat, grocery store is also a few minutes walking distance.

The only thing i can think of are the stairs to the upper level of the apartment. The stairs are quite steep and not very deep - might be problematic for people with movement disabilities. Or when you are half asleep trying to go to wc at night. Just be careful :)

We enjoyed staying in an authentic area, amongst local people and an easy walk to the sights we wanted to see. Supermarkets and bakery close as well as a number of restaurants.

The location is quite privileged: next to the port, 20 min walk from the old town, in a really peacefull and picturesque neighborhood. The interior is carefully designed and has all the basic facilities a tourist needs. Most importantly, during every single night there blew a nice cool breeze, which made the night sleep delightful.

The house is not only on ground floor: the entrance and the bathroom are on the ground floor and the kitchen-bed room is on the first floor. So the total 30 square metres are divided into 2 floors, which makes the house even more tiny. On the second day we got used to it and found tricks to overcome the lack of space and navigate ourselves up and down the narrow staircase.
