Ladywell House Suites

The rooms were close to new street train station as we had a train to catch at 7am the next morning, so location versus price was good.

The building doesn't look the most desirable, lift jolted everywhere, and corridors are creepy. The room was below standard in my opinion, photos look much better online, giving the illusion of space, when in fact you have to squeeze yourself around the bed. Stained carpets, ours had an iron imprint on the floor, cigarette burn on the headboard. The mattress on the bed has well and truly seen better days. With myself having suffered a slip disc only a few months ago, it was extremely uncomfortable for me to lie down on as it sunk in the middle and I could feel the slats underneath the mattress and numerous springs. The noise out of everything was intolerable and caused me and my partner to have no sleep. The internal plumbing rattles and bangs when neighbours use bathroom, walls are paper thin and can hear conversations, but worse of all is the nightclub "glamourous" across the road from our window. The music started at 11am and did not stop until 5.30am, and I discovered that this club is open from 11pm-6am, 7 days a week. Constant thumping bass, and the entrance area also has the smoking area so people stood outside chatting loudly. I am aware this is not the fault of the suites, but the windows do nothing to block out the noise, even having the TV on low does not drown it. If you are a light sleeper like I am, I do not recommend this place at all. Shame really, I guess you get what you pay for, would I stay again? Probably not mostly due to the mattress and the noise.

Close to New Street Station Once I got hold of them, they gave me a full refund pretty quick.

Directions could be better. It was nothing like photos advertising it and wasn't a suite, more like a small double room. It would've been a tight squeeze to get in the shower. The bed was stained and had burn marks on it, as did the carpet. The walls were dirty and had marks on it. The corridor to the floor was soaking wet outside another suite.
