Central location, comfortable beds, good space for a group

The location is very central and it was handy to have a lift. The value for money is OK considering that Brixen has become a very expensive place to stay. The kitchen was well-equipped and it was handy to have an extra heater in the bathroom. We were unlucky that the apartment appears to have been vanadalised between our two stays (with two nights in between), but the hosts handled that well.

The "two bedrooms" are really just one bedroom behind a sliding door and an extra bed in the open plan living room/kitchen. This causes complications if sleeping times differ, e.g. if you travel with children. There were quite a lot of decorative items around the space that made life difficult for me on my own with young kids. Most difficult of all, however, was communication with the host. They sent me a very inconspicuous message on the day we travelled (i.e. we had no time to read it) and made that the reason to (try to) deny access to the apartment when we arrived late in the evening. The problem appears to have been that they wanted a copy of the passports BEFORE arrival. We stayed in two other places in and around Brixen that week (and multiple times in the 20+ years before that) and never have I experienced this "rule". Also, they insisted I'd dish out my Italian tax payer reference (albeit I have never lived in Italy as an adult and paid tax there) or my Italian passport would not be "enough" for registering me (which would again have meant, apparently, that we "cannot stay"). This added unnecessary stress because neither of these are actual rules - why does nobody else have them otherwise? This was not right for us, unfortunately.
