Golden East

This hotel is located just off the road to Fira. so it's easy to get to places. The views are stunning and the room was clean and serviced daily. The bed is big and has a comfortable mattress and pillows.

The room is tiny. We didn't realise this when we booked it, but two of the rooms, are much smaller than the rest and we had one of those. Luckily, we only stayed for two nights, because it is definitely not comfortable enough for a longer stay. To make things more difficult, you constantly need to watch your head to avoid hitting it on the spiral staircase steps downstairs and the domed ceiling upstairs. The hotel has no lounging areas apart from a few deckchairs around the pool. However, it was too cold and windy on the poolside for us (we were there in October). The poolside is very open, so there is no real shelter from sun and wind. Also, the pool is on a patio with a sheer drop on one side, and there are no proper railings, just a rope. I would not feel safe there with small children. The room has a small seating area, but if you want to lie down, you can only do it in the bed upstairs, not ideal for a holiday. For us it was a working holiday, so luckily we didn't stay in the hotel much. I was not impressed with breakfast. You get boiled eggs (no other option for eggs), toastie, and some fruit and cake. You only get a tiny cup of coffee. The napkins smelled of smoke because the staff smoked in the reception/ kitchen area,

In ruhiger Lage ein sehr niedliches Hotel. Sehr zu empfehlen.

La habitación era muy bonita y el baño , las vistas desde la terraza y la piscina las hamacas y que te den toallas es un extra. Te llevan el desayuno a la habitación y nos dejaron entrar antes de la hora! También decir que se ven unos amaneceres brutales

I loved the kind attention to detail, delicious breakfast, and very clean surroundings. Also a very comfortable bed!

Nothing. I knew I was on the opposite side of the road for the sunsets before I booked, and I researched the facilities and positioning on the island.
