Central 1 Bedroom Apartment - with Patio

Lovely clean with everything we needed.

Think we did the heating control correctly but only minimal heat from radiators. Temperature didnt go above 19.5 actual temp on control.

It was ideal as close to the shops and there are lots to choose from There are a few bars within walking distance. On the whole, the apartment was ideal for me as only a 700m walk to work.

The parking in the street is first come, first served I only managed to get parked on Friday, so left my car where I was working.

Lovely place to stay, with very responsive and accommodating owners who could never do enough for you.

Location for the city centre was fantastic. 5 minute walk. If you can find a space, there was free parking. The basement apartment itself was lovely. Nicely decorated and very clean. There was no microwave which did not bother us but if you were going to cook a lot this may be important to you. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good pressure and was warm. A lovely cake with tea, coffee and milk was there for us on arrival which was a nice touch. A little patio out the back with a table and chairs was available if you wanted. Wi-fi was good. Communication was great from the host leading up to the stay. I would recommend a stay here with the considerations from 'what didn't we like'.

The comfort would have been exceptional but the noise from upstairs meant we did not sleep well the entire time. Until late and early morning and any time they were in, we could hear every footstep booming through the ceiling and a lot of banging. Guests would need ear plugs unless you are a very deep sleeper. They did not appear to be moving in so it seems they could be like this all the time. This could change with different tenants. Took a long time to find a parking space. One of the roads listed as being able to park in has double yellow lines down both sides. However, we did eventually find one but guests must be prepared to drive around for a long time or pay for parking. Once we got a space we did not move the car for fear of not finding a space again. It's understood parking this close to the centre would be a challenge, but the apartment is sold with free parking so this is just to make other guests aware - do not 100% rely on it. The host could have been exceptional however, on the first morning we discovered a lamp was smashed in at the back (ironically after we went to move it out of the way so we did not break it). I e-mailed the host immediately to let them know it was not us. There was no reply so concerned that we would be liable for damage, I also left a note on our departure. Acknowledgement would have been nice to stop us worrying that we would not be charged for something we did not do. As mentioned in the good stuff, the shower was lovely but be very aware that the shower floor is VERY slippy due to it just being tiles. We could not see a shower mat and the floor in not non-slip. Be very careful.
