Mumadona Apartment

A localização era excelente, em uma zona calma, o apartamento é confortável.

Apenas não gostei das zonas comuns do prédio pois notava-se que principalmente os vidros não eram limpos à muito tempo.

Spacious apartment, relatively close to the historic centre of Guimaraes. Three good bedrooms and a spacious kitchen. Kitchen equipment was working well. One en-suite with shower and a separate bathroom with toilet and shower. Reverse AC’s could keep the rooms warm. Parking the car on private terrain behind a metal chain. Street parking was in principle possible, but almost always fully occupied during the day due to the large school opposite the road. The apartment is on the third floor - street noise is not disturbing in the master bedroom. Neighbour noise is mainly limited.

The apartment is on the third floor of a rather old and partly dilapidated building. The entrance and staircase are in desperate need of renovation. The showers in the apartment both had showerheads that were loose and leaking hose. Water pressure was low. Not a nice shower experience. The apartment is quite basic, in need of renovation and lacking any form of luxury. The kitchen is very acceptable. Most stuff was there, but with just one wine glass and no port glasses there is need for some additions.

Firstly, I would say that I don’t normally place any reviews on Booking.com unless they are to say something really positive. However, having stayed in many many hotels & apartments booked through Booking.com, there was an instant disconnect between the 9.3 rating & what we actually found when we stayed here! Yes, the location is convenient, as is the car parking, & the host was helpful. But that is where the positives end. Had I booked it knowing it to be around a 7 rating I probably wouldn’t have reviewed. But with 9.3, there is a certain level of expectation, & this apartment fell well short! The exterior can only be described as grim. There are then 6 flights (of incredibly scruffy) steps up to the third floor. The apartment itself looks little like the photographs which portray a bright modern interior. The reality is that it’s very tired, dark, dingy, & quite unpleasant. No insulation, & ancient single-glazed windows meant that it was cold & uncomfortable. One night was quite enough to be staying here! I don’t enjoy feeling compelled to write (what I feel to be a more accurate) review. However, there is no conceivable way that this deserves a 9.3 rating. If you understand that when booking then you will be less disappointed when you stay here, & accept it for what it is, & enjoy the decent location.

The apartment is just 2-3 blocks away from the old town and is easily walkable to the castle and palace. Free parking next to the building, and lots of good restaurants nearby. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed our stay

The exterior of the building was a little rundown, but the apartment itself was nice.
