4 Seasons Suites Paradise Athens Airport

Cerca del Aeropuerto. El único valor que tiene el alojamiento es que se encuentra a apenas 10 minutos de distancia del Aeropuerto de Atenas.

El nombre del alojamiento es pretencioso. Se trata de una estancia sencilla, con servicios "correctos" a un precio demasiado elevado. No hay transporte público y el taxi nos cobró 25€ por 10 minutos de carrera.

NOTHING. The outside of the building is badly maintained and located in a run down area of Makropoulos. Can't comment about what I liked about it as I never managed to gain access to the place.

My 11 hour flight from from Cape Town via Addis Ababa landed at 05h00. The owner had messaged me the day before and confirmed that that I could check in early, between 6 & 7 am. I arrived at the 4Seasons at 06h15. It was dark and cold, around 6 celsius. No one was there. No bell to alert the office, nothing at all. The telephone number provided came back with the message that the number did not exist. At around 7h00 as the sun was rising, an old man shuffled out of one of the rooms to smoke a cigarette. He saw me and asked me, in Greek, what I wanted. I tried to explain to him that I had a reservation and wanted to get to my room. He told me that the house did not belong to him, and that I should go away. I continued to stand outside the gate trying to tell him that I needed access. I am 71 years old and recovering from cancer of the larynx, so unable to speak loudly. He then told me (in coarse Greek) to clear off or he'd call the police. Luckily, a man living in the house next door to the 4 Seasons had stepped out to smoke a cigarette. I asked him to try and call the telephone provided on the website, but with e same "number does not exist" message. About an hour later that same gentleman was leaving for work and was surprised that I was still standing in the street trying to raise the host. As he was running late, he offered the use of his WI-FI. If I stood outside his house, close the window I would have a signal strong enough to WhatsApp call my daughter in Cape Town to either raise the host, or find me alternative accommodation. She too could not raise the host, but managed to find a wonderful, clean, modern, comfortable alternative BnB (at a small increase in price). The hostess Corina called me, told me to stay put and that she would collect me from the 4Seasons, which she did, five minutes later. I had a wonderful 2 night stay at my new venue. My family and I are returning to Greece in mid May and will definitely be contacting Corina.
