Ribera del Marlin - Sotogrande

Fabulous 2 bedroom apartment right in the heart of Sotogrande Marina. Steps from the boardwalk with many restaurants and boutique shops. Only 15 minute walk to the beach. The Sunday artisan market was an added bonus we weren’t expecting.

Sadly the outdoor pool wasn’t yet open (it opens in June) but there was an indoor pool/sauna area.

Facilities and location was great

Terrace was dark by mid morning. I prefer more sun. Although the terrace was comfortable and private

The location is great with great restaurants literally downstairs. The apartment itself was lovely. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and comfortable living space for our family of 4. The indoor heated pool on the ground floor was great especially for the kids. Gym was also decent enough.

It was disappointing that the 2 outdoor pools were both closed (even though the welcome brochure outlines that one is open from Easter onwards). Likewise, they advertise that they have a sauna and steam room which is located next to the indoor swimming pool. However the sauna was Out of Order for the whole duration of our 8 night stay, and the steam room was only luke warm.

- Piscina “climatizada” con agua helada y SPA con agua templada. Principal razón de elegir esta urbanización para usarlo a diario y lo hicimos solo una vez en 7 días y sin apenas bañarnos por la temperatura del agua. - Olor intenso desagradable en el salón. Imposible sentarse a pasar un rato en familia. - Bañera hidromasaje dormitorio principal sucia. Fondo pegajoso con pelos y al encender el hidromasaje salían trozos de caucho negro.

Familiar with these properties. Well laid out group of secure apartments. Fully equipped, concierge, pool, gym . Near bars & restaurants

Jacuzzi was cold. No mosquito spray / deterrent

On the positive side the apartment is a good size with nice views. The beds are large and very comfortable and the bathrooms worked well. Easy access to the marina and restaurants is a plus.

1. The supplied key did not open the door from the parking garage to the lifts and the person on duty in the concierge was not aware the lock has been changed. As a result we had to carry our luggage a long way to get round the problem 2. At least 8 light bulbs in the property were dead and one of the lavatory seats was broken. 3. For a luxury apartment the furniture is somewhat basic and the kitchen is poorly equipped especially regarding serving dishes/bowls and glasses (there are lots of some types of glasses and very few of others). Coffee pods were provided but did not fit the machine on the counter top (maybe they fitted a machine locked in the owner's cupboard?). 4. The description suggested to me that there was a hot tub in the appartment (in addition to the spa bath). This was because a) it was listed as an apartment facility Viz: "Hot tub, terrace, air conditioning, kitchen and washing machine" and b) the first words in the Booking description are "This apartment's special feature is the hot tub". It turns out the 'hot tub' was at the far end of the complex by the indoor pool. Even then it could not be described as a hot tub since the water temp was the same moderate temperature as the swimming pool's! 5. The wind out awning over the terrace outside the sitting room (featured in the photo 4/13 of the apartment) had been ripped off the wall by some catastrophic event and been replaced by a broken free standing parasol which was very unsatisfactory.
