Royal view Apartment

The apartment is as pictured. It was very spacious with a bonus 1.5 bathrooms. Our host was kind enough to leave some necessary items such as coffee. The place was suitably clean and we were happy to be able to use the washing machine. The location regarding the proximity to the central market and Caudan waterfront was good as they were approximately a 10-15 minute walk. Our host was also very nice and responsive.

The only option for parking is on the street, partially in a rain gutter so we were always concerned about our rental car. Also, it is in a Muslim neighbourhood so there are no restaurants close by for dinner that serve alcohol.

Too many decorations in the apartment, I would prefer to keep it modern and functional.

Cosy clean apartment, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, lots of lovely touches. I know the comments about it being bright but it’s actually really nicely done. The ghost was friendly, helpful and informative. Some great street food just around the corner.

There is free parking on the road but the gutters are quite deep (not the hosts fault) which I was nervous about damaging the hire car but it was fine. The area is safe but not much there.

The apartment had everything you needed + it was clean. When we were done with walking around, we had lots of things to watch at the apartment, as the owner has Netflix and Amazon prime subscription 😊

The location. Note for Port Louis (not related to the apartment at all) : prepare for a culture shock, as the streets are busy, noisy and dirty. There are no supermarkets in the city itself, you need a car to get to one, as it's outside of the city (and I wouldn't recommend getting lost). Fast food kiosks dominate the city and there are only a few restaurants, usually at the more touristy area (and are therefore 4 times more expensive). The shops, restaurants etc have a dual working hours, and I remember we had issues to find an open pharmacy, exchange money... That's why we decided to leave the apartment sooner and go to our next location. All in all, I would recommend visiting the capital (there are many tours from each side of the island) and not staying there
