No 5 at Simpson Street Apartments Sunderland

Loved the original wall tiles and reproduction parquet flooring. Reminded me of one of my old schools. Minimalist styling and furniture. Lovely and warm. Fluffy towels. Strong WiFi. Easy walk into city centre.

Not criticisms or complaints - just observations. Kitchenette would have benefitted from more ‘stuff’. For example only one beer glass (not a problem for me but would be for a couple). No corkscrew - that kinda thing. No matter how much I tried, could not get shower to run hot. No shower gel/ shampoo which is usually provided. I stress these are not complaints. Loved my stay.

Size, layout, cleanliness,location.

No hot water until boiler got re-pressurised and virtually no glassware available. No tumblers at all, just one pint glass (obviously from a pub) , one wine glass and two flutes. This needs to be better stocked.

Cool apartment. Very handy for the Stadium. Great shower.

Bed is terrible...so small, soft and bouncy that sharing it with someone meant hardly getting any sleep. And you could easily get a bigger bed in this apartment - it would fit the place better. It was the one thing that let it down.

Beautifully done, the finish is very nice. Location great for the stadium of light (30 min walk)

No dishwasher, not that it’s major issue. Had everything you could need… but no corkscrew?! Would be handy.

We love it here. Home from home comfort..

Didnt like that there was no pole for the sky light windows to cool off upstairs.. Or open and shut blinds (the higer ones) Also no coffee table, no where to put drinks etc... Petty things but things we really appriciated in other rooms we've had before.. The pic did show a coffee table for room 5 aswell.. Also no bath mat.. To stop floor getting soaked from shower. (had previously too) Bedding beautiful and soft, but mattress abit springy.. But still things we worked round, and still love the place..
