Bayfields house by the Sea, parking, garden, central location

Fantastic location! Just a few minutes walk to Southsea Common and then to the promenade. The private driveway is a real bonus, as parking is a nightmare in this area. The house is very spacious and clean. This is the second time we've stayed here!

Honestly can't think of a single negative point.

Super viel Platz, tolle Ausstattung und gute Anbindung an den Nahverkehr. Auch der kleine Garten mit Grill hat uns gut gefallen.

Es wäre toll, wenn es etwas mehr Geschirr vorrätig gäbe.

Location was great. Ideal to walk into the town centre or to eat out. Easy walk to the common and the Southsea promenade/pier is 20 minute walk. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is only 30 minute walk. Lots of things to see around the Southsea area for free, there is a millennium walking trail, lots of information about historic events, the various towers and Portsmouth Cathedral (see photo) Very convenient for the ferries. Parking on drive way brilliant. Very roomy town house. Comfortable bed. Bathroom on top floor and toilet on the ground floor.

The cooker had knobs missing ( see photo) Many of the upstairs windows were dirty around the window seal (possibly from condensation or poor ventilation- see photo). The duvet on the double bed was not covered with a duvet protector and when bed stripped at end of the stay there were some very bad stains on the duvet. All reported to the owner/manager who responded that cleaning could have been addressed when we were still there. Only had 2 night stay and didn’t want people to come in and clean, it should have been cleaned first. Many of the kitchen items such as saucepans and frying pans could do with replacing. Combination Microwave oven but no metal base plate or grill plate to use those settings, so only suitable for microwave. The garden was full of weeds and needs some maintenance, no outdoor seating or table that were shown in the pictures. The number of stairs may be a problem for those less able but ok for us.

Good location, near restaurants and shops and yet relatively peaceful. Brilliant shower. A roomy property. Comfortable beds.

The kitchen equipment needs updating. Although we didn't do a lot of cooking, the oven trays and most of the saucepans were not, in my opinion usable. One or two newer items. Sadly, it let the rest of the property down, as the shower and the fridge were new and brilliant. Although the furniture was also dated, it was comfortable and clean. With the central heating already on, it was also warm on our arrival which was a pleasant greeting.
