Kypsalos Bungalows

The owner is very kind, friendly and helpful. The yard is beautiful, the beach nearby is very good. The place is perfect for families and kids.

The bungalows are quite newly built, modern and attractive in design, clean and well laid out. There was good, reliable Wifi, though we didn’t use it very much (when on holiday, put the phone down!). It was good to have though – For instance, we were able to book tickets to the waterpark in Thessaloniki - “Waterland”. The kids loved this by the way (recommended)! Going back to the accommodation, Dimitris’ family worked hard whilst we were there to keep the gardens and pool clean. Dimitris’ father (Nikos) was very friendly and chatty, and he was quick to answer my questions about the area. Changes of towels and bedlinen were provided during our stay. AC, fridge, oven, hobs all worked without problem. The pool was small but nice and perfect for the kids. The nearby beach (Chelona) 1km down the track the bungalows are located on was nice to visit a few times. In all, the beaches around the peninsula were largely very clear and snorkelling was good.

This isn't really a dislike - It's just something you should perhaps know about before you go - When we arrived we were initially surprised to see so many honey bees - around the picturesque surrounding area there are lots of clusters of colourfully painted hives and the bees like to visit the garden and the pool just about round the clock during the day. My children were concerned by this initially, but quickly realised that they posed absolutely NO threat. I would advise, however, that you take some flip-flops or ‘sliders’ to wear to and from the pool. No-one was stung during our week at Kypsalos and I didn’t hear of anyone else being stung, so don’t let the mention of bees in any of the reviews you read put you off booking! Note that a hire car is pretty much imperative.

The location was wonderful, close to a great beach, the pool was very clean. But what we loved the most was the quiet area, very relaxing indeed. If you want a quiet vacation spot, this is definitely it.
