Garden Cottage at Old Post Office

Attention to detail, very cosy comfortable and beautifully decorated. Very helpful host, lots of interesting additions like the vinyl music, books, yoga mats and varied seating areas inside and outside.

This cottage is 5 star, clean, modern, everything you need and so comfortable you never want to leave. Great hosts.

There was nothing

Great location. Close to hadrians wall sites. Excellent accommodation with everything you need and more. Nice additional touches in the room. And great that dogs are welcome too!

We should have stayed a few more days!

We loved the welcome pack for both us and the dog. We also appreciated our farewell pack too. It was so peaceful and was the perfect 'reset' that we needed.

Super Gastgeber! Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft - außergewöhnlich ist noch untertrieben. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen, sowas etwas tolles und angenehmes haben wir mit Hund noch nie erlebt.

The hosts were so accommodating and the apartment have everything catered for. They missed nothing.

The host was very helpful and friendly and allowed me to take my parrot and the property was quirky and clean and had wonderful personal touches. I smashed a bottle of wine and they replaced it which I thought was really lovely. Unfortunately the property didn't have the privacy that I thought it would have and I just felt a little uncomfortable as I could hear the family next door and I could smell their cooking,which was lovely,but I felt like I was staying in someone's spare room and felt I had to shut the curtains to the outside patio so the hosts couldn't see me laying on the bed. It was quite expensive for 4 nights and I only stayed for one night so I lost a lot of money. I told the host that I was leaving because my pet parrot was unhappy due to heavy rain and he was wonderful and showed me their other property on the other side of their house to see if it suited better . I feel the photos and description do not fully explain how little privacy you have and maybe that was my mistake for not reading it correctly. I just feel really disappointed that I lost so much money and was really looking forward to getting away and having some me time.

Lack of privacy

Everything, the accommodation was fantastic! Lovely furnishings, comfortable and with some quirky / unique features. Fully equipped with everything which you could need and more! Plus some wonderful personal touches. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here!

EVERYTHING - this is the loveliest, quirkiest and charming rental we have ever stayed in. Lush big four poster bed. Unique backing sitting area overlooking river with fire pit. So wonderfully stocked and supplied with everything from coffee to popcorn to yoga mats and a million things in between. Coasters sum up the beautiful randomness of this place LOVE IT.

The cottage was cosy, nicely decorated, and very well equipped. It is located near the local pub, Bowes Hotel, and is a good base for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the museums.
