Berluda Farmhouse and Cottages

Location

We loved the peaceful location of Room 20 mountain manor and super views of the surrounding mountains. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and light and exceptionally clean. The ostrich steak was delicious at the evening meal.

There was a ledge between bedroom and bathroom- not defined or marked in any way so constantly tripped up over. In fact my husband injured his ankle and is still hobbling two days later. There was no corkscrew/bottle opener in the room although wine glasses were supplied. Loud music with breakfast was totally incongruous to such a lovely setting and the breakfast was very mediocre with little choice of breads or cooked dishes. Disappointing. .

Einfach nur fantastisch! Freundliches Personal, eine wunderschöne Anlage, ausgezeichnetes Essen. Unser Highlight war die Meerkat Tour mit Hermes, es war unglaublich, die Erdmännchen so nahe zu sehen.

Staying for only one night

Endroit très agréable et très paisible dans un immense et magnifique beau jardin..avoir une piscine face au bungalow etait formidable...buffet le soir bien sympa.

Petit déjeuner pas terrible

Greeted at reception by Victor who sorted out a restaurant booking in Oudtshoorn with shuttle for the evening as well as sorting out our rooms. He kindly opened the bar for us after dinner and offered to light a fire for us to sit outside under the stars. He couldn't have done more for us. The bedroom was comfortable, clean, and the linen excellent, with a shaded verandah, looking over a pool which was shared with 2-3 other rooms. The rest of the staff and family were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are a little old fashioned but I liked that. I didn't like the filter coffee for breakfast but my husband did!

It was a lovely stay - beautiful surrounds. The room was really comfortable & big. Loved the patio & view. Peaceful.

Unfortunately there were many flies at the breakfast buffet which was really unpleasant & off-putting. Please invest in some small fans.
