Apartamenti Strand

This is something else.. The building is a quite large wooden property, freestanding in a wooded area, that is subdivided into about eight two-room apartments. It has a very attractive vibe; creaky floors and lovely aged elements, but at the same time a spotless and new bathroom and kitchen. There’s nothing sleek or designy here, nor should there be. It’s perfect as it is. My guess is this is one of the more historic properties in Saulkrasti. I would say this is suitable for couples and perhaps small families. Comfortable bed and very clean spaces. The back of the property provides access to a quiet white sandy beach, at about two minutes walking (a bit up and down, so not suitable for those with mobility issues). The owner is very helpful, often around as well, and made the stay effortless. Parking is ample and on-site.

Perhaps my only quibble would be with the proximity to the road - inevitable of course, but still, the noise from the steady trickle of cars interfered quite a bit with listening to the bird songs that are all around.

The place is great for those who love a historical spirit - for me staying at this place was amazing experience and I appreciated the historical character very much. The rooms, the bathroom, and the kitchen - everything was clean and tidy, well equipped. A beautiful beach just 1 minute walk, the stores about 3 minutes’ walk, very convenient. Comfortable beds - I appreciated 2 pillows for each person ;-)

No mosquito nets on the windows (maybe only in our apartment?). This was a tough experience, as there is plenty of mosquitos during the summer… we were not able to open the windows in the evening and it was really hot inside.

The property has a unique feel to it - it is an old house that has been modernized very modestly. While it has all the modern facilities (great showers, equipped kitchen, dishwasher, etc) - it still has the "romantic" old house feel to it which my party really loved. Additionally - the property is next to the beach which is usually quiet and it has a great supermarket and a few decent places to eat nearby. Perfect stay!

All apartments are on the second floor - prepare to use stairs a lot.

Hotel is in really nice place, really close by the sea. Room is clean and cosy. Host is very friendly and helpful.
