Perfect location and nice outside space

Loved the little extras, little chocolates, toiletries, teabags & coffee. Much appreciated.

The smell as soon as you walk in the door made me want to walk straight back out again. The bedding and towels had certainly seen better days. I went out and bought towels, pillowcases and a scented candles to make our stay more bearable. It is a little bit tired round the edges, with a few tweaks it would be a fab place. It’s a great location for exploring the lakes. The owners were very helpful. Parking was no great issue for us to be honest.

Only suggestion would be that a secure area for our dog would have been the icing on the cake.

Lots of charm, central location. Nice outdoor space. Was quiet, beds comfortable with fresh clean bedding. Unlike a lot of expensive properties there were lots of extras such as plenty of toilet rolls, bin bags, clean kitchen cloths & tea towels. Also tea bags, some condiments and toiletries in the bathroom which was appreciated.

More specific directions to the property instead of just the address as the close door between the shops was open so we didn’t see it. Needs some interior updating and more detailed cleaning (windows/blinds) however it was fantastic value for money and had everything you needed. Although there’s a courtyard it wasn’t secure for our dog so we had to be careful. The outdoor planting needed some TLC (I watered some of them!).

The location was great. Although finding parking was a bit of a pain. The free street parking was about a 10 min walk away and not the easiest to find. The disc parking was out in front of the property was few and far between but we managed. The property had everything we needed and the hosts provided detailed instructions which were helpful. The shower was hot and had good water pressure.

The house could do with a bit of an update and it would be a 10/10. The sofa was very well used, still comfortable but was marked up from use. The house had a bit of a smell of mildew when you walked in. We opened the windows and it was fine but it perhaps needs a dehumidifier. The beds were comfortable but I think new bedding and pillows could really make a big difference. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very dusty making it not work very well. Also, the pans are non stick and were scratched making them not safe to use as I believe it can release toxins when cooking on it.

Everything. Host was so obliging. Will definitely stay again. Set off the main street. Parking just up the road. Lovely and clean.

Really convenient location, just off Main Street, but still quiet. Well equipped kitchen.

Really nice location, very quiet. Nice little cottage. Liked sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, it’s a real sun trap. Cockermouth is a really lovely town with lots of great independent shops. Easy access to the Lakes.

One of the beds creaks very noisily when the occupant turns over or moves in it. Downstairs smelt of damp.

The Cottage was cute, spotlessly clean everywhere, and comfortable. Had everything you needed for your stay.😃

Even though it was quiet in Cockermouth, we found that we needed to book restaurants/pub for food in advance because most were full.
