Clean, central, well equipped, lovely view from the rooftop terrace, close to parking and the Saturday markets.

The location was good. Very quiet. Nice restaurants near by. Bed very comfortable. Lots of hot water and very nice shower. The team who managed the accommodation couldn’t have been more helpful. They responded immediately and were so nice.

The wifi was not good

The proximity to the old town was great. They provided excellent customer service. Arranged a car rental for us. They gave us a nice bottle of wine upon arrival and then dropped off wine glasses because there weren’t any in the unit.

No patio or deck. The unit was on the ground floor and opened up onto an alley so you could not open the windows or shutters without people looking in. They didn’t offer extra towels or enough coffee pucks for our 3 days stay.

Pretty street and felt safe. Located slightly apart from the bustling tourist area but with its own seaside bars and restaurants frequented mainly by locals.

Update photos of terrace. A couple of mugs would have been useful. Update information leaflet for Wi-Fi. Instructions in English for washing machine, which was constantly used by other apartment.

The proximity

Expensive for what you got, we had the bottom unit, not very appealing, were not given the choice of apartment, pictures show a balcony. Shared washing facilities not appealing.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Casa di Gouto. The first floor apartment was 2 bedrooms, one bath with a cozy kitchenette, table for 4 and corner couch. George and the CreteWise team were extremely communicative from the onset, creating a WhatsApp group to text a few days before our check-in and were easily accessed via that route for our entire stay. Through WhatsApp, we were sent a detailed PDF with all the info we needed from check-in, check-out, wifi, laundry, etc. The beds in each room were comfortable (one full size and 2 twins pushed together) and the towels were good. Soap and shampoo were provided, as was a Nespresso with a few pods (and olive oil & sugar packets) plus a bottle of chilled Greek wine! We had George arrange for an airport pickup from a driver who met us upon our exit from baggage claim. The fare was 35 Euros (to be paid in cash). From the taxi drop off point, it was a short walk to the apartment, and easy to get the key from the lockbox. There was also a second set of keys in the apartment which was very handy to have with 4 adults. Location was EXCELLENT as it was quiet and secluded yet so close to the old Venetian Port area. One of us was training for a run so they were able to find a running route around the harbor that was easily accessible. There was one small hiccup when the toilet wouldn’t stop running randomly after a flush the second day, but by communicating through WhatsApp, George was able to send a CreteWise rep who came to get it to stop (the equivalent of “jiggling the handle” but different with a 2 button wall mount toilet). George was also able to arrange transport back to the airport for us but make sure he has the correct date as there was a small snafu with the driver having a wrong date. Other than that (and the fact that no apartments have paper towels in Greece), we had a perfect stay! Recommendation for a restaurant nearby: Albi- much quieter than Port area with an open air courtyard & great Cretan food.

Small request but a dish towel or paper towels in the kitchenette would be great. Otherwise everything was truly excellent.
