Quiet and peaceful, and a short walk to the bay also well equipped with all you need. Good to have the host, John, next door in case you needed anything

"Nice location, but dirty grubby place."

Location was lovely place.

That it was in the owners own house which wasn’t mention when booking. Wasn’t clean, out of date food & spices left in cupboards. Cobwebs in shower! Single bed in living room which didn’t leave much room to sit.

Great location with good level walking on doorstep. Close to pretty village of Portmahomack. The host was available if required.

A double bed would have been better than two twins.

My stay with John was peaceful. He met me with a warm welcome, offering assistance if necessary. I hiked in Golspie, Wildcat Trails Black Lynx, which was 20-30 minutes away, hiked the coast in the beautiful town of Portmahmomack, 10 minutes, and ate a delicious lobster roll at the Highland Larder in Dornoch, 15 minutes from John’s. I meant to eat at the Inver Inn, as I heard it was delicious, but I ran out of time. Next time. Thank you for a lovely stay John!

"Peace and quiet in a perfect little setting."

I really loved staying in this accommodation. John is an excellent host and could not have been more helpful. The peace and quiet was incredible. I had eight hours continuous sleep for the first time in decades. I also made a new friend in Louie. I will definitely be back.

Nothing. It was the perfect place to get away from it all.
