Cálida habitación a 10 min de Santo Domingo

This stay met and exceeded my expectations. I booked it as a solo traveler who was visiting the city as a tourist but also had to work remotely. Firstly, the host was very lovely, friendly and helpful. Secondly, the room was very clean, spacious, and is nicely decorated. There is also a large desk with fast wifi, allowing remote working without any issues. (There's also a table in the patio.) The neighbourhood is lovely - calm and bursting with street art. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, but the city centre itself is a 10-20 minute walk away.

The only negative is that the wifi, while being very fast at the desk, doesn't consistently reach the bed - so e.g. a film may struggle to load. But that's a very small problem to have!

Location was fabulous and the host absolutely delightful, extremely fast communication and genuinely lovely people! Our favourite place we stayed at in Mexico by far

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the room is spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated and the shared terrace facilities were a huge bonus. It's just under a 20 minute walk into the historic center of town but an enjoyable one and well lit at night on your way back. The neighbourhood is great, cobbled streets, colourful houses and lots of street art with plenty of cafes, corner shops and restaurants close by if on some days you don't want to venture further. One of us got food poisoning while we were here and were very glad that this was the place we got ill because it was so comfortable and clean.

The shared kitchen wasn't as clean or well looked after as the room but this is understandable given it's used by more people. We did find a cockroach in the bathroom one morning but are absolutely certain that this was our own fault for having left the bathroom window open over night with the standing water in the shower attracting it (we had seen a cockroach just outside the night before) - we didn't have any problems again once we got that one out.

Lovely property, very homely and a friendly, welcoming host.

The location was fantastic! In the beautiful residential neghbourhood of Jalatlaco where you can find cafes, restaurants, art shops, bookshops, etc - whilst also being a 15min walk from the historic centre. The room had everything we needed (looked exactly like in the pictures), including access to a shared kitchen and a small courtyard to chill in. We were very independent and could come in and out easily as we liked. The family who owned the property was very sweet and accommodating. The host always replied in a matter of minutes, and gave us information on the best ways to get from the airport to the property, to the bus terminal and even arranged a taxi to pick us up at 4am.

The bathroom door scratched the floor, meaning that everytime we opened or closed it in the night we would wake the other one up - we could have mentioned this and I am sure they would have fixed it. The kitchen could also be kept cleaner and basic essentials like soap and sponges restocked.

The location is the best (and probably safest) you can get in the city. The room and the house were tastefully decorated and we received plenty of help for our travel plans. Colectivo stop towards Tlacolula is just around the corner. They also kept our backpacks overnight for a small fee while we went for a hike.

Excellent location, great value. Hosts were friendly - no real interaction after initial check in. Which was fine. Very friendly and always available via chat.

A few small complaints. There was no filtered/drinking water. I guess that's ok it is just unusual! A small lamp on the bed side table would be a simple but meaningful improvement. The shared kitchen smelled like old compost or something the first day. There was a small very bright light shining in my room from the outside. I was able to manually turn it off - should be on a timer or relocated.

Cleanliness, kind and accommodating host, location, price, everything!
