Mel Ville

My stay at Mel Ville turned out to be surprisingly pleasant & such a novel experience. Unlike other spaces in Pondicherry - & yes, I have been around - this one stands out solely because the property owners ( a middle aged couple ) are "hands on" when it comes to servicing their guests. The owners get on a Whats App group with their guests & are quite pro active, making sure the guests are taken care of & made to feel comfortable. Every request of mine ( from providing a hot press in the room, to arranging conveyance at short notice, or getting ice cubes late at night ) was fulfilled with great gusto & in real quick time. Anup was kind enough to take me on a tour of Mel Ville on the day I was checking out. Quartz, the penthouse studio, Neon, the standard studio, Ivory & Pearl the large two & three bedroom apartments... all done up thoughtfully. The interiors were pleasing to the eye & maintained so beautifully by the charming hostess Mehak & her efficient team of house maids. The kitchen facilities in the apartments come in handy for families with kids in tow. A mini platter of complimentary snacks from their home kitchen was as delicious as it was nutritious - not to be missed ! The front yard is large enough to accommodate two cars & a few scooters. Being located in a quiet - primarily residential - neighborhood allows for ample & safe parking. I typically avoid highly rated properties on the portal but I am glad, I opted this one, this once !

The bedroom were compact but highly functional. The tariff was a tab bit high but I guess, I am sure to forget how much I ended up paying but the pleasant memories will linger until I visit next..

no breakfast was available in the hotel had to go for it outside so restrictions on getting up early & go out, so the basic idea of relaxing is defeated even the toilet is very small & not very comfortable to take a bath no bath accessories, the towels & napkins given were very used ones (i am stating all this because I my self is a Travel Consultant for last 40 yrs & have traveled worldwide.

Mr Melwani is helpful to the guest, but the room needs to be with proper windows, be airy, and have no refrigerator so no cold water or ice available, cannot buy cold water and keep it cold as the weather is very humid & sweaty, no parking available although mentioned on the website, Very difficult to get parking & to park outside on the road is very dangerous.

Very clean and cozy appartment, close to city centre. We also enjoyed the restaurant of the family 800m away from property.

The room was good with a lot of daylight and had a good ambience. The white and blue curtains gave a pleasant vibe. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast which was prepared on request was very delicious. The neighbourhood was quiet and conveniently located.

The towels provided could have been better.

Location of the property was great! Very close to all sights in Pondi. Anup and Mahek are amazing hosts who are friendly and professional
