My recent stay at the two-bedroom house in the village by the Sea, hosted by Alex, was highly satisfactory. Although we did not meet Alex in person, our communication by phone was prompt, courteous, and very helpful, which ensured a smooth experience. Alex also kindly provided a flexible check-out, which was very convenient. The house was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing everything needed for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the peaceful setting and the proximity to the sea, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, the quality of the accommodation and the attentive hosting made this stay most pleasant.

One aspect to be aware of is the location of the village. It is about an hour’s drive from Heraklion, with much of the route passing through a deserted mountain area. In particular, the final ten minutes before reaching the village involve a series of around 20 sharp turns, some of which felt potentially dangerous and would benefit from more attention to road safety. Additionally, the village itself is quite basic, offering limited activities. Facilities include only one small minimarket, a few traditional taverns, a single decent restaurant, and one modest beach bar. While the simplicity may appeal to some visitors seeking a quiet retreat, others may find the options rather limited.
