The roof sounding like it was about to fly off in top bedrooms! Host was contacted and did send out a guy to try and fix it. But this didn't help. Think it really needs looking at as this was end of June. Would not want to be staying over winter.

Location was amazing. We felt very lucky!

Fantastic location. We had a fantastic weekend family break away. There were 9 adults and 3 children and lots of room for us all.

Wonderful location and ample space in the bedrooms for our family. The views out across the water to the Donegal headlands was fantastic. The property was warm and comfortable. There was some high winds when we were there and so a bit of wind noise which was to be expected but good solid windows that shut out the weather noise.

We had thought that the living are may be too small for the 7 of us but it was fine. The kitchen area is small but well equipped. We did not sit at the table as it only seated four but had enough room to cook and prepare meals.

The property location is amazing, right in the middle of the main road(promenade) where the view is amazing and ALL cafes, shops are at your doorstep. The rooms were clean and spacious, a welcome booklet informed us how heating worked and what we needed to do upon checkout. The water pressure was lovely and there were no issues with heating. All guests had a bed/room to themselves which worked out perfectly for us. Cooking utensils were adequate and there were more than enough mugs, glasses, plates, cutlery as well. It is so helpful that an accommodation that could house our party of 7 was also dog friendly (Golden Retriever). The little garden space in back was convenient to be able to let the dog get some fresh air too.

Finding the parking space was difficult due to unfamiliarity of area/small roads. (Maybe more specific instructions?) Also, unfortunately, due to the holiday timing, there were other cars blocking the entrance to the specified parking area so we were unable to utilise the space. (It would have given us some peace of mind knowing our cars were in an allotted spot) It would have been helpful to have a body soap/shampoo available considering other self-catering accommodations usually supplied a minimal amount. (I was tickled to see some dog kibble in a can but we remembered ours) I’m pretty sure there usually would have been tea bags available since there was loads of sugar, but found none. (Minor inconvenience but we left the box we purchased for future guests) :) Perhaps a map of areas that are walking distance from property where dog owners can “relieve” their dogs would be useful in future. This was a wonderful location, my family and out of town guests had a comfortable stay.

Beautiful views and a very comfortable property for a weekend stay with our family in Portstewart. Emma was very helpful and replied quickly to my queries.

The back entrance is very steep and a little bit tricky to find your way. If the kitchen and bathroom were updated it would make The Porthole even more special to stay in.

The best thing about this property was The spectacular View. Absolutely stunning location
