Lilla's Landing

This house is even better than it looked on the photographs -- you have amazing sea views from the top two front facing rooms and can watch the sunset from the braai area and those rooms. The yard is enclosed, so safe for dogs. We walked for hours or just listened to the sea. The beach is right outside the property. The house is well-equiped and we felt very safe.

Everything was amazing. Some poachers came up to the house one time to try and sell us seafood, but that is apparently commonplace for Paternoster.

Beautiful views, right on the beach

Poachers came off the beach into our garden at night wanting to sell things. A few beggars also walked into the back yard from the front of the house because there were no locks on the outside gates.

The team at Paternoster Rentals are friendly and always willing to assist. The day we arrived we called to ask if there were perhaps matches or a lighter because we forgot to buy some and the shops were already closed. They brought us a lighter at 6pm on a Sunday! Wow!! Winnie that cleans the house is delightful and does a stellar job! The house was spotless when we arrived.

I liked the facilities and the fact that all we needed were in the kitchen like all utensils and the convenience of the gas stove and the lights that started on during loadshedding. The proximity to the beach an private beach access was also a plus.

On our second day we ran out of toilet paper because we were 9adults, it would've been great if a house keeping staff member could have come check in if we needed clean towels or toilet paper.

We liked the location, the property is right on the beach, and the views are amazing. Our favourite restaurant Voorstrandt is also within walking distance which makes it beneficial. The property is large and suitable for ten people. Furthermore, there are lights in preparation for load shedding.

The finishes to the property were in a bad way. Some door handles were dodgy, and the one bathroom door was difficult to open from within, which could be better. Furthermore, the kitchen drawers and cupboards need work; some need to be fixed and made easier to operate. Finally, the braai area needs an upgrade; the base is deformed and difficult to use; also, and the grids are old and broken. In my opinion, the price does not match the quality of the property.

The only place we ever stay in Paternoster!! The photos don’t do it justice. The house has recently been renovated and they have done such a great job. You couldn’t get closer to the beach than this, so great that there’s a little garden too - especially when travelling with kids. The staff are very helpful.

Just a few snags still due to the recent building which they are working on.
