Penthouse Apartment near Puerto Marina

Location at Benalmadena is good, private car parking was good.

While booking the holiday the headline of the advert stated that it was a 120m2 luxury Penthouse.. which it definitely is NOT. Upon arrival it became instantly clear that the apartment was considerably smaller (appr. 80m2) two bedroom flat in a residential bullding and far from luxury. Reviews on booking.com website were mostly fake which also became clear soon, as well as most of the photographs were staged and taken by a professional photographer. Sun only shines on the balcony after 2pm. Cleaning equipment and some step ladders etc were stored on the balcony. Balcony doors lock was hanging with one screw only hence locking it was impossible. Sound proofing the flat and other residential units within the building is nonexistent – even normal conversation by next door neighbours could be heard through the walls. Same applies to any noise from the stairwell, EVERYTHING was clearly audible. Advertised swimming pool, which was one of the main reasons in booking this apartment, was not in use due to local water shortage, but this was NOT told us while booking or at any point before arriving to the apartment despite it being known by the owner since february. The apartment itself was fully furnished with cheap furniture and a mish mash of kitchen utensils that seemed to be obtained from charity shops. Some of the furnishings were clearly from 1980’s. Airconditioning was coin operated and unbalanced, resulting 7 degrees temperature difference between two bedrooms (large bedroom being 22 while small being 15 degrees. Washing machine was also coin operated. Coffee maker did not work, and the owner refused to replace it, asking us to rinse it with vinegar. The problem with it was NOT calsification as per the owner but the overheating relay. Underneath a ”breakfast bar” was a warning not to lean against it as it may fall off. This apartment has nothing to do with luxury, it is a basic noisy, shabby, tacky, badly maintained 2 bed rental flat.

Absolutely beautiful apartment. So clean and spacious. 4 minutes walk to shops and bars. 8 minutes walk to the beautiful marina and beach.

The apartment and the location

We stayed in a beautiful penthouse apartment. Within walking distance of everything you need, shops, bars, restaurants, the beach and the beautiful marina. The apartment comes fully equipped with all the comforts of home. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our holiday. Also thank you to Ines who welcomed us and made us feel at home straight away.

The property is self catering. The local is fantastic. 5 minutes walk to the main strip where you can access buses to Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Malaga. The Marina and a number of beaches are 10 minutes walk away. There are a lot of amenities within a short walking distance.

I can't think of anything, everything was perfect.
