Popy's Place

The outside shower was one of the biggest pro’s. We really enjoyed doing barbecue on the big balcony and the sunsets were amazing. The owners were super friendly and available.

Bless the owner he waited until our delayed (should have been midnight) flight got in to give us the keys & show us around at 1am, we bumped into him once & he recognised us & stopped to chat, but otherwise the owners were unobtrusive. The main bedroom was a good size, the balcony area was huge & we could see the sea. The washing machine was a bonus though it smelt musty & if you left your washing in there for more than 15 mins after it ended it stank as the door is kept shut all the time due to the rain/heat protector. There was a reasonable range of equipment in the self catering kitchen, there were some helpful bits left for us to use such as salt & pepper, oil etc, the owner had left 6 medium bottles of water in the fridge which was so thoughtful as we were parched when we arrived & wanted tea in the morning so not having to go find a shop for water straight away was super lovely. The shop (Nill) on the corner over the (very busy) road was owned by friendly people, fairly well stocked (tho limited range of fruit & veg) good selection of food & supplies otherwise, nice wines etc. The bakery (Pink Velvet) next door to the shop did great sandwiches (very reasonable to take to the beach or back to your accommodation), doughnuts, croissants & beer on tap! Loungers (2 w brolly) at Golden Bay/Sciroccos 15 & food at both was lovely most other beach loungers were private & could not be rented, get there early! There was ample bedding spares (pillows, bedding, blankets etc) in the huge wardrobe it was just a shame a lot of the room was taken up with storage of those things. Also the doors were so long I caught my foot with them several times making my toe bleed as they are about 1/2 inch above the floor, be careful opening them. A/C was included & very efficient. No safe.

The doors to the balcony had no fly screens on so if you let the breeze in, you got mozzies which eat me alive so I suffered. It became apparent that the balcony floor had not been swept since the last holidaymakers so I got bitten about 20 times the first night all on my lower legs & ankles, but the next day we could see there was a large ants nest at the top of the steps (which no one but us washed down while we were there) unfortunately anything like that finds me tasty.The ants made their way onto the only table (on the balcony - the one in the kitchen has to be used for prep/storage as there is no usable work space in the kitchen) big enough to eat at, so we found ourselves having to shake the tablecloth off & sweep & mop the balcony floors all the time - we accept that this is something as Brits we don't think about often as it is not something we struggle with at home & it is not a hotel. The balcony doors lock with a turned handle not a key & the one to the bedroom does not latch at the bottom, it might be a low crime area but... The bathroom door to the bedroom would not close at all, meaning the somewhat unpleasant sewer smell made its way to my sleeping space & the bathrooms are tiny, put the loo roll on the bed while you shower as it gets soaked, the neighbours were screaming & shouting on several nights (residentail properties behind) & dogs etc were barking but the noise from the road for us as people who live in the countryside took some getting used to & it meant sadly, we did not sleep well some nights, guess it wouldnt bother some peeps, The worst thing was that the fridge did not stay cold enought to keep our food fresh, this meant we wasted over £30 worth of food in the first couple of days.

Peu de rangements. Pas de moustiquaire pour les portes. Oreillers un peu durs. C'est tout.

Really nice experience, we got everything we needed and even more than expected. Whole kitchen, the washing machine, 2 AC's, terrace is big with a nice view, also bed's are so comfortable and the owner was rly kind and helpfull.

Posizione perfetta, a due passi dal mare. Proprietari molto disponibili e simpatici. La casa era attrezzata, abbiamo apprezzato la doccia nel giardino e il tavolo sul terrazzo

Walking distance to the beach. The apartment has everything I need for my family to stay in one week. Host is super super nice: always reply to my message and support us a lot

Locația aproape de plajă. Poți merge pe jos către plajă. Foarte aproape de stația de autobuz, în apropiere sunt magazine și restaurante. Camerele sunt spațioase, cu o terasă imensă cu vedere la mare. Am avut la dispoziție chiar și o mașină de spălat rufele care a fost foarte utilă. Bucătăria a fost echipată cu de toate. Am avut la dispoziție chiar cele necesare în bucătărie ( ulei, sare, zahăr etc.), ceea ce nu găsești în toate locațiile. Proprietarul a fost foarte amabil, serviabil, nu ne-a deranjat cu absolut nimic.

Wifi-ul nu a funcționat foarte bine. Dar până la urmă am fost în vacanță. Nu am avut mare nevoie de el.
