Vila Mar Apartment

Wonderful location, close to cafes,bars, beach, easy drive to visit Funchal, easy to get to some of the Levada walks too. The view from the villa is beautiful, perfect for sunsets! We loved it and communication with Rita was perfect!

The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed (I.e., towels, beach towels, extra blankets, kitchen items). The location was great; less than 5 min walk to row of restaurants, and less than 10 to the beach. It is also located close to a small grocery store and pharmacy. The staff who greeted us was lovely and checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything.

Friendly and helpful staff. Replied quickly. I would use them again🙂

Location and the kind check in, very friendly people

- missing some blackout curtains in bedrooms as it gets very light in summer so it's hard to sleep - mattresses and pillows needs to be replaced, our backs are feeling quite sore - extra towels would be good - showers did not warm up so we had cold showers everyday, that was the painful point of our stay.

The location and views are amazing. Staff was pleasant to work with and brought additional towels upon request. Overlooking the cowork space. Waterfall is a levada drainage and had a relaxing sound most days. Bathrooms were good. Kitchen is large.

Beds were horrible -all 3. Linens are so thin you can see the mattress, they are like 30 years old, and everyone had terrible sleep and back pain. Everything slams loudly-doors, shutters, cupboards. Parking comes with a warning, it is difficult and a 5 pt turn to get out. You must have a car if staying in Ponta do sol. Stay in funchal for more dining etc, there is really not much in this town. Also- love kids, but this apartment is directly next to a day care/primary school with very young kids playing on the outside patio from about 630-830am. I am surprised the reviews didn't mention the beds or daycare. WiFi is good in main living room but not in bedrooms (typical concrete walls).
