The property was conveniently located, with long but manageable walks to all of Santa Flavia/Porticello/Sant'Elia and also to Bagheria/Aspra/Mongerbino. Maria and Paolo were very efficient and organized, and sent lots of links to amenities and services in the area

The bed was uncomfortable: hard and lumpy. After the first night, I messaged Maria to ask if they might have something to put over the mattress to make it more comfortable. She said they didn't have anything so I did the best I could but did not have good sleep experience

The selling point is the spectacular view of the Basilica and the hills from the huge terrace of the yellow room. The room is equipped with everything you'd need for your stay; the hosts even provide the capsules for the coffee machine. Santa Flavia train station is within 10 mins walk. From there you can reach Palermo in 20 mins and Cefalu in 45 mins. Not every train stops there so you need to check the schedules (italiarail.com). The hosts Maria and Paolo are lovely people and provided a link with recommendations for nearby restaurants, beaches etc, and offered to provide a beach umbrella.

Couldn't get the shower water temperature right, it was either too cold or too hot and it kept changing by itself, but we didn't mind the cold showers in the August heat anyway.
