Zimmer am Schwielowsee

Good location, easy to reach nearby towns along the lake both by car and via public transport. A public transport ticket is included as a part of the tourist tax fee. The room was clean; the kitchen and bath were spotless. At the time of my booking, this was certainly the accommodation with the best value for money in the entire region around Caputh. The guest house is run by shop-owners who sell regionally made cheeses and jams in the attached shop. Although the prices were high for the locally made products, it was nevertheless something unique to have in-house. The staff member checking us in didn't seem friendly at first, opening our first conversation with a quick demand for the tourist tax. I was not amused at first. But, as it turned out, she was in fact a lovely lady with a course sense of humor (also known as "Berliner Schnautze"). Just take it with stride. I would return to this accommodation but request a window away from the cobblestoned road.

The room [window] faced the cobbled stoned street. Although nighttime car traffic was light, the rumbling of car tires on the cobblestones could be heard. This wasn't much if a problem at night. But at dawn, with steadily increasing traffic, the passing cars could rouse one from sleep at an earlier hour than desired. This however would not be a reason to avoid the guest house. But light sleepers should know this in advance. The bed wasn't comfortable. But this is subjective critique. Not enough will placed outlets
