Villa Pesca Self Catering accommodation

The host contacted me beforehand to know when we would check-in so that she would be ready to receive us and hand over the keys. The bed was comfortable. The fans were strong enough to help with the heat. The TV had Netflix pre-installed.

We were under the impression we booked a self-catering apartment but it's actually shared lodgings accommodation (like a hostel), which was NOT what we wanted. We actually got a room, with an en suite, with access to the common area (kitchen and lounge). If there were other occupants there, we would have felt really uncomfortable. The entrance to the lodgings had no blinds or curtains so we didn't feel like we had privacy while eating or watching TV. The microwave didn't work, and because the labels on the microwave were faded, we couldn't find the right setting to get it to work so we spent about 30 min trying all the settings. The appliance was hot on the outside but the food contents just was not getting hot. It was late so we didn't want to bother the host with this so we used a frying pan to heat the food on the stove. The parking area was dreadful with the paving having sunken so the front of the cars got a bit damaged when we parked and came out.

The location

The host was the most unwelcoming I have ever experienced. They have a set of rules that are quite strange and even unsafe. 1. Any person that visit you for couple of minutes or couple of hours (even if they do not sleep there) will have to pay a full night 2. We cannot have the gate remote and are not free to go in and out without the caretaker permission there is a curfew at 10pm and unless prior arrangement was made, no one can leave the premises. considering that I'm travelling with 3 young children, how do we get to a hospital in case of emergency after 10pm? After a long and heated discussion the host eventually agree to give us the gate remote control. During our stay, she will not allow my children to play in the garden and they will be reprimanded by her even if they are no making loud noises. On the last day of our stay, she kicked my family out at 10am and despite me asking her to wait for 40 mins, the time for me to be there and take my family to safety (i was running last minutes errands), she refuses and treathen my kids and their nanny to get security to kick them out on the streets. From that point she did not grant them access to the unit to look for my prescription glasses that were left in the unit. I had to go open a case at the police to at least recover my glasses (which at the time was adamant are not in the unit) that I need desperately to drive with. I had to keep the gate remote until she can give us back my glasses. The hst refuse to come to the police station and rather treathen to smear my re\putation around by sharing my picture online. More than a week later, they contact my assistant to say they have found my glasses and other items that my family left there since they were being evicted by force. Terrible experience

Adele was such a friendly host! Checking in and making sure I am satisfied. Gave me some advice about the local places to go and I really enjoyed my stay. Beautiful garden, quite area, safe and great location - perfect distance from the beach and local shopping centres
