Sunrise Apartment

A very spacious, private and quiet apartment in a small building with the host living downstairs. There is a large balcony with seating and a table for eating outside. It's a 45 minute walk to the centre but the local bus service is cheap and convenient. One bus takes you directly to the city centre. Lots of coffee shops, supermarkets, bakeries and tavernas in the immediate area. There is free street parking and it was not too difficult to find a spot. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating.

The bedroom lighting could be improved. It's a fluorescent ceiling fixture. Bedside reading lights and a bedside table would help. Hot water was plentiful but the shower is very tight so hard to avoid splashing water everywhere.

Late night check in with a host who has a gentle soul. Always ready to help in any need.

Everything was extremely clean, comfortable, and spacious with a great view from the terrace like others have said, and the super friendly and accommodating host. The apartment is well thought-out and arranged for travelers' needs. There are lots of cafés, markets, and eateries in the area, but the apartment itself is quiet all day.

I didn't mind the walk to/from the center - like 10-15 minutes. it's nice since there's a park and a boardwalk along the seaside all the way to the center. I'd gladly take that together with quiet good night sleep and privacy (not possible to get if you stay in the center). Anyways, there are tons of buses (direct to the airport/port) running all day

We were there for a whole month and enjoyed our stay so much we would’ve happily stayed for longer. The apartment looks just like the pictures, apart from the balcony view where it doesn’t do it justice. Such a nice spot to eat in the morning or at night as the suns setting. Sometimes local cats come visit which is nice. They provide you with everything that you’d need in the flat even a grater which I was surprisingly excited about as I don’t think I’ve used a grater more in my life. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of space to hang your belongings. Living room includes a sofa bed, 2 tables and tv with Netflix included. Kitchen comes with a microwave and 2 hobs which was plenty enough for us! We didn’t have any mode of transport other than our legs so we basically walked 10km in all directions. It’s a About a 10 minute walk to a beach, 2 minutes to a local large supermarket, 2 Lidls within 15 minute walk, and 2 gorgeous bakeries under a minute walk away that we’re both open late. Lots of cafes too! We found an amazing little plates restaurant which was so affordable and they give you free raki and dessert as a custom! Not sure about the name as it’s in Greek but it was on Elefthernis road, 5 minute walk from the apartment. Overall really lovely location. Our stay was made much better by how lovely the hosts were, we have promised to come back again :D

We chose this apartment based on the very good reviews, and we were not disappointed. The location is just right, somewhat close to the centre (Venetian Gate is about 15-20 mins of casual walk, port is about 25-30 mins), and we could always find a parking place for our rental car in the street (free). By car, we were on the ring road in just a few minutes, so it was a good base for exploring the region. The host communicated well, and provided a small welcome package with a craft local drink and some items in the kitchen (water, jam, butter, some bicsuits, etc.). The balcony is huge, and the view is just as good as you see on the pics, we enjoyed it a lot. There is a shade for the table on the balcony, and we had our home meals there. The apartment was clean and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. The washing machine was a big bonus for us, as we could refresh our clothes during our stay. All in all, we were very pleased with the apartment, you simply can not go wrong choosing Sunrise Apartment for this price. We will be back... Try out the pistachio ice cream at the bakery at the main road corner, it is worth it :)

Small bathroom, but manageable. The other features of this apartment however more than compensate for this.

Nice, cosy apartment with all the amenities. Communicative host, nice terrace with a view, two air conditioners in the apartment. Highly recommend.

The location is a bit further from the city center, however it is easily accessible by bus and all the shops and restaurants are nearby.

A beautiful, spacious, air-conditioned suite with a breathtaking view of the western part of Heraklion. And our host was very kind and helpful. Perfect breakfast and sunset dinner on the balcony, definitely recommended.

Apartment is not in the center but it is not big problem, bus stop is near and u can walk to city or to the beach in a few minutes (like 700 metters approx). And u can absorb pure spirit of Greece/Crete.
