Soetvlei Cottage

Host are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The hiking trail is a great PLUS as its not too challenging but still a little workout. The quiet surroundings and the views are breath-taking once at the top. The Splash pool is a great way to cool down in the summer and awesome place to just chill and enjoy the surroundings of the farm

Even though the host does warn you about the road it is a farm road. The road to the cottage is a challenge with a sport car, so it takes a little longer to get there from the main road. A standard car, pick up or SUV will have no issues

This cottage is a little gem nestled away within Magaliesburg. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for peace and quiet time away from the city. The cottage is neat and tidy and had everything you'll need for cooking or braai-ing. There's a small hiking trail to enjoy and the you have your personal space at the cottage to sit back and relax. The cottage garden is quaint and enjoyable, you will want to spend every minute outside. You can also star gaze since the night sky is mostly untouched by city lights. Not to mention, Eorona who is such a wonderful host and ever ready to assist.

The bird life was amazing and the cottage was peaceful in a beautiful part of South Africa.

The stay was short but good, comfortable and well maintained. The amenities were many as there was a braai area, small pool.

The only negative thing is the long gravel road

Soetvlei was perfect. If you are looking for a place just to unwind and enjoy the quite and bird song, then Soetvlei is for you. Next time I will definitely stay longer than a weekend.

The peace and quiet. We were so aware of the quiet. It really helped us to relax completely. The cottage is cosy and unpretentious

The only item we missed was a top flat sheet on the bed which had a fitted sheet and a noisy duvet...
