Elisabeth's Penthouse at the heart of the city

The location of the apartment was so convenient to shopping/restaurants and enjoying the sea. The food goodies that were left for us were over the top! Every appliance possible was available for us. The apartment was large and spacious and gave us a feeling of a home not a one-room hotel. The welcome by Manolis was greatly appreciated as well as keeping in touch with us during our entire stay.

The terrace overlooking the sea faces east and, even with a beautiful canopy, it is best to be there from 11:00 on and is superb in the evening. My husband thoroughly enjoyed sunning himself several days in the lounge chairs. It is on the third floor of the building but we rested at each level and the amenities far outweighed the steps.

Greeted by host's son who was very kind, helped us with the bags and parking the car. The car park is about an 8 minute walk away, but he took us there. Parking has locked gate. We simply dropped off bags and then parked car. The deck and view was absolutely fantastic. STUNNING VIEW from a HUGE deck. Two sunbeds and table and four chairs on deck too. WIFI was great. Laundry rack and machine with lots of clothes pegs for hanging. Full kitchen. Stocked fridge of bread, jam, butter, water, assorted packaged ham and cheese, fruit, though we did not eat it. Also a free selection of their own homemade Amaretto, Raki and Lemoncello which were all very good. Also host left us a small gift of a little jar of wild oregano. Laundry machine worked great. Hairdryer was good. Lots of room - large apartment. Assortments of shampoo, conditioner to choose from. Good towels and clean bathroom. Shower chair for elders or those in need is provided. The place overall is not modern, and old fashioned in design (lots of wood) though it was comfortable. Good bed linens and towels. Small back deck, though no need to go there. Incredibly kind and very generous hosts! We would stay here again for sure! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! PERFECT!

There are bars at night all along the front of the place, but as bedroom is at back of the apartment you could only hear it slightly. If you close the door off between front of place and back area where bedroom is and bedroom door, it made the place much quieter.

The apartment is situated right in the heart of the Old Town overlooking the harbour with fabulous views from the large terrace and convenient for all amenities. The hosts were great and very generous with lots of home made goodies and ready to help with anything to improve our stay.

Be aware that being in the heart of the Old Town means that local bars may well be playing music past midnight. Plenty of excellent local wine does the trick if you're a light sleeper. Being in The Penthouse gives great views but you do need to walk up four flights of stairs, although Elizabeth's son Manolis is happy to help with luggage as he is with anything else that he can and is always readily available

When we arrived, fridge filled with various drinks for all tastes, fresh fruits, delicious handmade cakes, also handmade liquors, how to not appreciate all of this kind attentions specially when you arrive late in the evening. The terrace is big with a stunning view on the see and lighthouse.

The property is near bars, playing music loudly (very) until 3 AM, but we were aware about that as described in booking information, hence this may reduced the enjoy of the terrace after a dinner, however younger customers won't care for sure ;-)

The location was great, in the heart of things. The view from the balcony was unreal!!!!!! The hospitality was amazing! There was little surprises for our stay, biscuits, drinks and enough food in the fridge to make brekky for a few days. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. Macoli, Elisabeth’s son, warmly welcomed us to the apartment and kindly helped us with our suitcases. He also offered some great suggestions of local restaurants. He was very helpful.

Being in the heart of things meant the apartment was noisy at night time. We slept, but you could hear the music from the near by restaurants//clubs. The apartment is at the top of four flights of stairs. It was hard to carry the suitcases up and down. After a long day of walking we breathed a sigh every time we would get to the stairs knowing the energy we needed to climb them.

The location was fantastic for exploring old town, great restaurants, night life, and the unobstructed view of the harbor from the penthouse terrace was breath taking.

I can’t say anything bad. We had the best time.

Everything - great apartment with amazing views, had all the amenities needed and more. The hosts (mother and son) were amazing, son looked after everything and was always on hand to help. Also he made homemade raki, amaretto and limoncello and his mum made lots of cretan biscuits/treats which was the cherry on the cake. Highly recommend
